Yellow Card, a provider of stablecoin payment infrastructure, has completed the acquisition of GoMoney Sociedade Prestadora de Serviços de Ativos Virtuais Ltda., a virtual asset service provider based in São Paulo. The Atlanta-based company said the deal closed in October and gives it direct operations in Brazil.

GoMoney has applied to the Banco Central do Brasil for authorisation to operate as a virtual asset service provider under Law No. 14,478/2022 and BCB Resolution No. 519/2025. While that application remains under review, GoMoney operates under Brazil’s transitional regime for such providers.

For Yellow Card’s clients, the acquisition adds local pay-in and pay-out services in Brazilian reais, including through the Pix instant payment system, together with stablecoin settlement handled by a local provider. These services will be integrated with the treasury and liquidity products Yellow Card offers in its other markets. GoMoney, founded in 2018, will become a wholly owned subsidiary and will continue to be run by its founders.

Chris Maurice, co-founder and CEO of Yellow Card, said running global financial infrastructure requires respect for local regulatory frameworks and payment networks, as well as local expertise and relationships. GoMoney co-founder and CEO Maurício Pires said the company had spent eight years building a business focused on using stablecoins for cross-border payments in Brazil and planned to expand across Latin America as part of Yellow Card.

The companies pointed to data from Chainalysis showing that Brazil recorded $252.5 billion in crypto transactions between July 2025 and June 2026, the largest volume in Latin America, and that stablecoin activity in the country rose 495% over the 2024 to 2026 comparison period, driven partly by corporate use for cross-border transfers and liquidity management.

The deal follows a $40 million funding round Yellow Card raised in August 2026 from investors including Standard Chartered and Sony, as well as recent registrations and approvals in Canada, Switzerland, Nigeria, Ghana and Zimbabwe. Yellow Card supports more than 50 currencies.
