Community lender Capra Bank and Zact, a commercial banking technology provider, have launched Capra SpendLink, extending a long-running partnership aimed at giving Capra’s business customers modern financial tools. The companies, based in Dubuque, Iowa, and Sunnyvale, California respectively, announced the launch on November 4, 2026.
SpendLink builds on a commercial card program that Zact already powers for Capra. According to the companies, that program has helped the bank grow its commercial payments business, win more corporate customers and open new revenue streams. The new product combines commercial card management, expense management, integrated payables and business travel in a single offering under the Capra brand, with the aim of simplifying spending controls, expense approvals, payments and reconciliation for businesses that would otherwise rely on several disconnected systems.
The two firms said they are also looking at further commercial banking capabilities that could be added on top of SpendLink as customer needs change, with the goal of supporting more of their clients’ financial activity and capturing a larger share of commercial spending.
Zact describes its platform as bank-first. It is designed to sit within a bank’s existing technology environment, so institutions can add new services under their own brand without replacing core systems.
Dr. Lynn “Tut” Fuller, chairman, CEO and founder of Capra Bank, said the bank aims to pair the personal service of a community lender with technology comparable to that of much larger institutions. Zact CEO John Thomas said fintechs have spent years eroding banks’ commercial customer relationships, and that Capra shows community banks “can compete for that business.”
Capra Bank is a full-service community bank with customers in Iowa, Idaho, Texas and New Mexico.
