Financial technology group FIS has announced that Chief Financial Officer James Kehoe will step down effective November 5, 2026. Alexandra Brooks, the company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, will take over as interim CFO from the same date while the Jacksonville, Florida-based company searches for a permanent replacement.
Kehoe, who joined FIS in 2023, will stay on as a non-executive senior advisor until March 2027 to help with the handover. He took part in the company’s third-quarter 2026 earnings call as planned. FIS published its quarterly results and updated full-year 2026 guidance in a separate announcement on the same day.
Brooks will keep her role as Chief Accounting Officer and will work closely with Stephanie Ferris, FIS Chief Executive Officer and President. The board and CEO have started a search for a permanent CFO that will consider both internal and external candidates.
Ferris credited Kehoe with playing a key part during a period of major change at FIS, including the Worldpay exit and the Issuer Solutions acquisition, and with sharpening the company’s focus on capital allocation and cash generation. She described Brooks as a former public company CFO who already knows the business, its controls and its finance team, and said her appointment provides continuity during the search.
Brooks joined FIS in October 2024. She was previously Executive Vice President and CFO of Hertz Global Holdings, a post she took after serving as Hertz’s interim CFO and Chief Accounting Officer. Earlier in her career she held finance, accounting and audit roles at Aptiv, General Electric and General Motors, was CFO of Champion Windows and Home Exteriors, and started at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
