Viamericas, a provider of remittance and international money transfer services, has announced a new partnership with GCB Bank Plc in Ghana. This collaboration allows U.

S.-based customers to send funds for cash pickup at 184 locations across Ghana or directly to bank accounts within the country. The initiative complements Viamericas’ existing network of agent locations and digital channels.

GCB Bank Plc, Ghana’s first and largest indigenous bank, was established in 1953 and listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange in 1996. The bank expanded its branch network to over 184 and its ATM presence to more than 340 after acquiring selected assets and liabilities of two indigenous banks in 2017. GCB’s four-year strategy, developed in 2025, aims to position it as a dominant market player.

Sina Kamagate, Executive Head of Retail Banking at GCB, stated, “This partnership will go a long way to provide unrivalled payment solutions to Ghanaian diaspora in the U.

S. to send funds home efficiently, while also strengthening financial inclusion and supporting families across the country.”

Joseph Argilagos, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Viamericas, commented on the expansion, saying, “This partnership represents an exciting expansion of our services to the Ghanaian community. By combining our trusted network of agents with cash pickup and direct bank deposit solutions, we provide families with the flexibility to send money safely and efficiently, helping them support their loved ones with confidence.”

Viamericas, founded in 1999 and headquartered in Coral Gables, Florida, operates as a licensed money transmitter offering international money transfers, bill payments, check processing, and top-up services. The company supports sending money to over 285,000 locations in 95 countries and maintains operational centers in Mexico, Colombia, and the Philippines. Viamericas recently received the Fintech Futures’ Paytech Award in the “Best Business Payments System – Cross-Border & Remittances” category.
