Usercentrics Acquires MCP Manager, Integrating AI Governance with Data Privacy Solutions

Share It:

Usercentrics, a global leader in Privacy-Led Marketing solutions, has acquired MCP Manager, a next-generation governance platform for the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This acquisition extends Usercentrics’ capabilities to incorporate consent and data guardrails directly into AI-driven workflows.

The combined platform is designed to offer a unified Privacy-Led Marketing Suite. This suite will manage consent, preferences, and data governance across various digital touchpoints, including websites, applications, internal systems, and consumer-facing AI agents. The integration ensures that real-time, model-driven interactions are transparent, trusted, and aligned with user choices, thereby positioning compliance as a strategic advantage.

“With this acquisition, we are defining how companies govern AI at a moment when compliance is no longer optional,” stated Donna Dror, CEO of Usercentrics. “As the EU AI Act moves from phased implementation into enforcement this year, organizations can no longer treat AI governance as an afterthought. By uniting our privacy-led suite with MCP Manager’s governance capabilities, we’re helping organizations future-proof their AI strategies, so they can innovate faster, stay compliant, and scale AI responsibly without compromising trust.”

Effectively governing AI requires controls at the point where AI interacts with data. While Model Context Protocols (MCPs) serve as an industry standard for connecting AI models to organizational systems, they do not inherently prevent issues such as AI agents accessing customer relationship management (CRM) data without consent or an inability to explain AI decisions to regulators. Usercentrics’ acquisition of MCP Manager addresses these challenges by establishing a policy-enforcement layer that provides companies with a control plane to monitor and manage how AI systems access and utilize data.

Michael Yaroshefsky, founder of MCP Manager, who now joins Usercentrics as Vice President of Artificial Intelligence, Chief AI Office (CAIO), commented, “As businesses deploy AI agents that access real customer data, MCP is the natural enforcement point for consent and compliance. With regulations now taking effect, governed AI infrastructure will become the standard, and together with Usercentrics we are uniquely positioned to lead that shift.”

MCP Manager, launched out of New York City in 2025, developed a production-grade MCP gateway that includes observability, security, consent enforcement, and streamlined deployment. The team behind MCP Manager includes contributors to the official MCP specification and specialists in AI security, governance, and productivity.

Usercentrics is recognized as a global leader in data privacy technology, known for pioneering Privacy-Led Marketing within the digital economy. The company supports over 2.4 million websites and applications in 195 countries, processing 8.8 billion user consents each month. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
