TradeStation Integrates Capitalize API to Modernize 401(k) Rollovers into IRAs

TradeStation Securities, Inc., an online brokerage firm, and Capitalize Money, Inc. have announced an integration designed to streamline the transfer of employer-sponsored retirement accounts. This collaboration enables TradeStation users to move 401(k) assets into their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) directly through the TradeStation platform, consolidating their savings in one place.

The traditional process for 401(k) rollovers has historically been complex and inefficient, often taking six to eight weeks. This lengthy timeframe contrasts with other money-movement methods like ACH and ACATS, which typically complete transfers in a few business days. Capitalize addresses this challenge with a digital-first workflow, while TradeStation’s integration allows users to complete these transactions without leaving its platform.

John Bartleman, President and CEO of TradeStation Group, Inc., stated, “TradeStation clients expect award-winning technology, whether they’re trading or managing long-term investments. Through our integration with Capitalize, we’re bringing that same standard to retirement accounts, supporting confident and efficient movement of assets.”

Gaurav Sharma, CEO and Co-Founder of Capitalize, added, “We’re thrilled to work with TradeStation to extend the power of our Rollover API to one of the most sophisticated trading communities in the market. TradeStation has long pushed trading execution and innovation, and together we’re giving traders the same high-performance experience they expect, this time for their retirement account transfers.”

TradeStation users will be able to utilize Capitalize’s technology to locate old 401(k)s, verify account details, and submit rollover requests directly within the TradeStation environment. This integration aims to create a more efficient process for consolidating old 401(k)s into TradeStation retirement accounts. Capitalize’s Rollover API is currently used by a growing network of financial institutions and has facilitated billions of dollars in retirement account transfers.
