Trace Finance, a regulated financial infrastructure company specializing in cross-border payments and stablecoin settlement, has announced the completion of a $32 million Series A funding round led by CoinFund. The investment, which also saw participation from Coinbase Ventures, Haun Ventures, Jump Crypto, Valor Capital, Paxos, and HOF Capital, is intended to support the company’s global expansion by increasing transaction capacity and extending its regulated infrastructure into new high-growth corridors.
Initially, Trace Finance established its operations by connecting the U.
S. to Brazil. Brazil, recognized globally for its stablecoin infrastructure concentration, has categorized virtual asset cross-border flows as foreign exchange operations. This regulatory shift has directed institutional volume towards bank-grade infrastructure, a sector in which Trace Finance operates. The company developed its infrastructure in Brazil, a market with complex FX and compliance requirements, processing over $10 billion in cross-border volume and becoming a primary provider for major global payment entities in Latin America, including dLocal. This infrastructure is now slated for international expansion across Latin America, the U.
S., and the APAC region.
Bernardo Brites, co-founder and CEO of Trace Finance, stated, “Stablecoins alone do not solve cross-border payments. Stablecoins plus regulated local bank infrastructure does.” He added that the funding round will enable the company to enhance its banking, payments, and compliance infrastructure, which global fintechs, exchanges, international banks, and enterprises utilize to bridge digital settlement with local financial systems. The company aims to extend its initial U.
S.-Brazil bridging infrastructure across Latin America and other emerging markets.
The Series A funds will be allocated to scaling the company’s services for large global enterprises, enhancing product capabilities in FX, bank connectivity, compliance, and stablecoin settlement, and expanding its regulated footprint across Brazil, the United States, APAC, and other priority jurisdictions. Trace Finance is building a regulated financial layer designed to connect global stablecoin liquidity with local banking systems in high-growth markets.
Einar Braathen, Partner at CoinFund, commented, “The next phase of global money movement will be won by companies that can bridge onchain settlement with trusted local banking systems.” Braathen noted that Brazil presents one of the largest and most operationally complex payment environments globally, and Trace Finance has developed regulated infrastructure that businesses use for scaling, offering time and cost savings compared to traditional methods.
The Series A round also garnered support from strategic investors such as Chainlink Labs and SNZ Capital. Additionally, founders and operators from the stablecoin, payments, and banking sectors participated, including Sean Neville, co-founder of Circle; Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana Labs; Bam Azizi, co-founder and CEO of Mesh; and Ricardo Villela Marino, Partner and Vice Chairman of Itaú Unibanco.
Trace Finance is also developing new settlement products based on its regulated banking infrastructure. These products are intended to deepen the company’s role in connecting local financial systems in Brazil and Latin America with global stablecoin liquidity.
