Tide, the UK-headquartered business management platform, has announced it has surpassed 1.5 million global members and facilitated over £1 billion in lending to UK small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The company has added over 500,000 members since September 2024, with its UK member base now at 750,000 and its Indian member base also exceeding 750,000. Tide’s share of the UK market has grown to 13%, and the company continues to expand its presence in Germany.
Oliver Prill, CEO of Tide, stated, “Reaching 1.5 million members globally and lending more than £1 billion to UK SMEs are major milestones for Tide. These achievements reflect our commitment to helping small businesses save time and money by giving them business critical tools across finance, admin and related commercial services that they need, to grow. We are enriching and expanding our range of highly connected products at pace. We will continue to explore markets to boost the geographic footprint of our business management platform.”
Product developments include the rollout of Tide Credit Flex, a short-term loan facility integrated into the Tide app designed to assist members with cashflow. Approximately £23 million in credit has already been deployed through Credit Flex in the UK. Furthermore, Tide has provided over £1 billion in funding to more than 17,000 UK businesses via its Funding Options platform, acquired in 2023. This intermediation service allows small businesses to borrow from £1,000 to £20 million from a network of around 85 lenders, and is also expanding in India and Germany. Deposits in Tide Instant Saver in the UK have grown to over £2 billion, offering a competitive interest rate. In India, Tide launched Fixed Deposits Intermediation, enabling SMEs to earn up to 8.8% interest. The Tide Card Reader provides a portable payment solution for small businesses, requiring no additional hardware.
Tide offers four subscription plans—Free, Smart, Pro, and Max—to cater to a range of SMEs. All are available in the UK, with Smart also accessible in Germany. Higher-tier plans include priority phone support, unlimited transfers, and a legal and fraud helpline.
Across its markets, Tide provides accounting and administrative tools, such as estimates for corporation tax and income tax, a dedicated tax account, and cash flow tracking. In India, the Udyam (MSME) Registration service offers paperless onboarding for official recognition, enabling eligibility for government benefits, including low-interest loans and subsidies. Following its UK VAT registration service, Tide now offers GST Registration in India, assisting businesses in obtaining a Goods & Services Tax Identification Number (GSTIN) for compliance and other benefits. Indian SMEs can also pay utility bills through the platform without additional costs and earn rewards. The structured partners feature facilitates secure disbursement of funds to employees, freelancers, and vendors, with analytics providing real-time spending data.
International expansion efforts have seen Tide’s member count in India surpass that in the UK. India, with its approximately 66 million micro, small, and medium enterprises, presents a significant growth opportunity. Tide is also gaining momentum in Germany, home to 5.5 million SMEs, and has established an office in Berlin with over 20 employees, led by Country Managing Director Anna-Fromme Schoen. The company plans further expansion across mainland Europe.
Tide is deploying its initial agentic AI solutions to manage complex, non-linear processes and uses generative AI for product connectivity, risk assessment, and member support. This builds on its established use of predictive AI/Machine Learning for invoicing, transaction processing, and fraud detection.
The company’s growth has led to an expansion of its team to 2,500 employees, located across the UK, India, Germany, Bulgaria, Lithuania, and Serbia. Tide has been recognized as a Great Place to Work in India for three consecutive years.
Tide is committed to supporting female-led businesses, aiming to onboard 700,000 women by the end of 2027 (200,000 in the UK and 500,000 in India). In June, Tide became the headline sponsor of the 2025 everywoman Entrepreneur Awards in the UK, launching the partnership with a £20,000 grant and plans for masterclasses and webinars.
In its commitment to Net Zero, Tide has matched its direct and indirect emissions with durable carbon removals since 2022. The company aims to reduce its carbon footprint per employee by 90% by 2030, targeting a 97% reduction in CO2 emissions by revenue. Tide is also working to simplify the Net Zero journey for its SME members.
