PicPay, a prominent digital bank in Brazil, has introduced its Global Account, enabling its Brazilian users to open accounts in USD and EUR, convert Brazilian Real instantly, and utilize Visa cards for international spending. This initiative expands global financial access for PicPay’s extensive customer base in Latin America.

The Global Account is built on the AstroPay Platform, a global financial infrastructure designed to support cross-border products. This integration allows millions of PicPay users to save in foreign currencies and conduct international transactions directly within the PicPay application.

With the Global Account, users can maintain balances in USD and EUR, convert BRL at competitive exchange rates, and use international cards for purchases abroad. The service aims to offer a frictionless experience, with users signing up, saving, and spending through the familiar PicPay interface. Benefits include favorable FX rates and potential annual returns on dollar accounts, facilitating savings protection against inflation, earning in global currencies, and international shopping.

The launch addresses a growing demand within the Brazilian market for holding value in USD or EUR, driven by increased international travel, education and leisure spending abroad, and access to global investment opportunities. This trend is particularly notable among a globally connected generation seeking seamless financial products for an international lifestyle.

AstroPay’s platform provides the underlying infrastructure, allowing businesses like PicPay to quickly implement multi-currency accounts, cards, and international payment solutions. This technology, derived from AstroPay’s global wallet, enables partners to embed financial services under their own brand, while AstroPay manages technical, regulatory, and licensing complexities.

Danilo Caffaro, Executive Vice President of Personal Financial Services at PicPay, stated, “This launch gives every Brazilian the tools of a global bank, without ever leaving PicPay. We’re proud to offer safe, simple access to dollars and euros, and the ability to spend globally with complete control.”

Diego Steinberg, Chief Revenue Officer of AstroPay, added, “In an increasingly digital and borderless world, more people are traveling, working, and earning across countries, and with AstroPay Platform any company can launch global financial services to meet those needs.”

PicPay’s Global Account is currently being rolled out to verified Brazilian users, with full access anticipated by Q4 2025.

PicPay, with 13 years of operation and over 64 million customers, is recognized as a leading digital bank in Brazil. The company, founded in Vitória (ES), Brazil, pioneered instant peer-to-peer transactions and QR code usage. It now provides a comprehensive portfolio of financial products and services. PicPay reported a net profit of R$208.4 million (approximately USD $38.9 million) and revenue of R$4.5 billion (approximately USD $840 million) in the first half of 2025.

AstroPay offers a digital wallet and proprietary payment method utilized by millions of users globally. Its multi-currency wallet and integrated card facilitate instant money transfers and spending within a single application.
