Claim Health, a company developing AI-native revenue operations solutions for post-acute care providers, has announced the close of a $4.4 million Seed funding round led by Maverick Ventures, with additional investment from Peak XV, Y Combinator, and DHVP.
The funding round also saw participation from C-suite executives at prominent post-acute care providers, indicating significant market validation for Claim Health’s approach. Since its involvement in Y Combinator’s Spring 2025 batch, the company has reported a 30-fold increase in revenue in under a year, driven by the adoption of its AI-native solutions by providers looking to replace existing manual systems.
The post-acute care sector in the United States, comprising approximately 68,000 providers, is experiencing a surge in demand, with referral volumes now exceeding pre-pandemic levels. Projections indicate that home health volumes alone are expected to grow by about 13% over the next five years. This growth occurs as providers simultaneously grapple with increasing payer complexities, staffing shortages, and higher denial rates, making revenue operations a critical and resource-intensive challenge in care delivery.
Claim Health addresses these challenges by rebuilding the revenue infrastructure from the ground up. Its AI-powered platform manages the entire referral-to-reimbursement process, encompassing intake, eligibility verification, authorization management, and payment reconciliation. This system aims to eliminate reliance on manual portals and paperwork, automating and coordinating workflows to enable providers to scale operations efficiently while reducing administrative burdens and preventing revenue loss.
Kevin Calcado, Co-Founder and CEO of Claim Health, stated, “Post-acute providers are under immense operational pressure, and revenue operations are where that pressure shows up most acutely. Our goal is to eliminate the administrative friction that slows down care and creates financial instability. We’re using AI to build a system that works continuously in the background so teams can stay focused on patients.”
Early adopters, including Ascend Health, Interim HealthCare, and Home Care RN, have utilized Claim Health’s platform to optimize operations, reduce denials, and improve financial predictability. These customers have reported achieving reductions of over 50% in administrative workload, up to a four-fold increase in referral throughput, and a 30–50% decrease in preventable denials.
Lexi Henkel of Maverick Ventures commented on the investment, noting, “Post-acute care is a large and rapidly growing part of healthcare that lacks modern technology. Kevin and JJ’s history working together at venture-backed healthcare startups combines go-to-market leadership with product and engineering experience, uniquely positioning them to build something new and enduring in this space.”
Claim Health was co-founded in 2025 by Kevin Calcado and JJ Ram, drawing on their experience in building and scaling venture-backed healthcare software, particularly within the home care sector. Their previous collaboration at Dandy, a fast-growing healthtech company, saw Kevin leading early go-to-market strategies and JJ as an early engineering hire. Through extensive consultations with post-acute operators, they identified revenue operations as a universal bottleneck, necessitating a new, AI-native solution. Their long-term objective is to achieve a self-driving revenue cycle through intelligent automation, thereby reducing administrative load in care delivery and supporting sustainable provider growth.
