Leading advisory, tax, and assurance firm Baker Tilly has announced its intent to acquire Sockeye, a prominent Sage Intacct partner recognized for its deep industry expertise and technology-enabled finance, accounting, and project management solutions.
The acquisition is strategically aimed at enhancing Baker Tilly’s Sage Intacct capabilities and accelerating its focus on the construction sector. This market is currently experiencing significant demand for scalable, cloud-based financial systems that provide real-time visibility and efficiency.
Sockeye, headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska, brings award-winning implementation experience and specialized knowledge across multiple sectors, including construction, real estate, not-for-profit organizations, oil and gas, and Alaska Native Corporations. The combination of the two firms is expected to provide clients with access to one of the market’s most robust Sage Intacct teams, facilitating faster implementations, more tailored solutions, and deeper industry insights, particularly for businesses managing complex project cycles and financial reporting needs.
Ann Blakely, managing principal of Baker Tilly Digital, stated, “Sockeye brings outstanding Sage Intacct capabilities and a sharp focus on the construction and real estate industries — areas where our clients are experiencing significant transformation. This acquisition strengthens our ability to deliver purpose-built solutions at scale, helping clients modernize critical financial systems, improve cash flow, and make faster, data-driven decisions.”
In March, Baker Tilly announced a collaboration with Sage to offer Sage Intacct Construction to construction firms across the United Kingdom and Ireland, a market also facing pressure to digitize operations and enhance real-time financial oversight. With Sockeye’s established success serving construction and real estate clients, Baker Tilly is positioned to scale rapidly in these regions, offering the insight, implementation expertise, and industry guidance required by construction firms.
Susan Vincent, Baker Tilly’s Sage Intacct solutions practice leader, commented, “Sage Intacct is a cornerstone of our cloud ERP strategy, and we’re proud to be one of its leading partners. Sockeye’s proven track record and depth in the Sage ecosystem enhances our ability to deliver powerful, industry-tailored solutions. Their hands-on implementation experience and alignment with Sage best practices help our clients realize faster time to value, especially in complex sectors like construction and real estate.”
Sockeye supports over 2,000 businesses across the U.S. and Canada. As a top Sage value-added reseller (VAR), the firm is known for its client-first approach and its ability to assist organizations in optimizing processes, integrating critical systems, and gaining actionable financial insights.
“Our team is proud to join Baker Tilly — a firm that shares our commitment to innovation, people-first values, and delivering results,” said Nick Brorson, CEO of Sockeye. “This combination enables us to bring our specialized expertise to a broader stage, helping clients around the world implement and optimize the technology they need to grow with confidence.”
Clients of the combined entities can anticipate enhanced support through Sage’s global partner ecosystem, expedited implementations, and expanded access to skilled professionals familiar with the unique financial and operational needs of construction and related industries. Whether modernizing from legacy platforms, outsourcing finance functions, or implementing Sage Intacct for the first time, the unified Baker Tilly and Sockeye teams will offer an expanded bench, broader reach, and increased value. Sage Intacct is recognized as the first and only preferred financial management system of the AICPA.
