Vox AI Partners with Adyen to Introduce Integrated Drive-Thru Payment Solution for QSRs, Aiming to Enhance Efficiency

Vox AI, a conversational voice AI platform for quick-service restaurants (QSRs), has partnered with Adyen, a global financial technology platform, to launch Vox AI Pay. This new solution enables card payments directly at drive-thru order terminals, aiming to streamline order processing and reduce wait times.

Vox AI Pay integrates with the existing Vox AI platform, which automates drive-thru ordering through voice AI. The payment solution is compatible with all major point-of-sale (POS) systems, allowing for faster payments at the point of order and subsequently reducing queues and increasing throughput in drive-thrus.

Maurice Kroon, co-founder and CEO of Vox AI, stated that Vox AI Pay, powered by Adyen, offers a dual benefit: an additional layer of automation that speeds up drive-thru ordering and provides a convenient payment method for QSR patrons. He added that QSR operators benefit from competitive rates and reduced friction. Kroon anticipates that voice will become the standard interface for QSR locations, leading to new levels of efficiency and revenue.

Adyen’s payment infrastructure underpins Vox AI Pay, supporting its global coverage, reliability, and high performance. Vox AI aims to offer restaurants competitive rates for payment processing, with potential fee reductions of up to 20% for global QSR brands. The Vox AI Pay terminals are backed by a 99.99% uptime guarantee and accept major cashless payment methods, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

Pearse O’Flynn, Global Head of Platforms – Food & Beverage & Hospitality at Adyen, commented that customers expect a seamless and rapid drive-thru experience. He noted that integrating frictionless payments into the drive-thru through Vox AI Pay can increase throughput, decrease wait times, and improve the guest experience for QSRs worldwide.

This partnership follows Vox AI’s recent deployment with Burger King Poland, which positioned Vox AI as the largest voice AI platform in Europe. Additionally, Vox AI secured an $8.7 million seed funding round led by global venture capital firm Headline, with participation from True, Simon Capital, and Souschef Ventures, to support its growth and international expansion.

Founded in October 2023 by industry veterans, Vox AI’s platform was developed for the $1 trillion global QSR market. The company addresses challenges such as labor shortages, high turnover, increasing wage pressures, and operational complexity within the sector.

The Vox AI platform autonomously handles and processes orders 24/7 in over 90 languages and dialects, providing high accuracy and speed. This capability allows customers to place drive-thru and mobile orders in their preferred language. The platform also includes “Employee Assist,” a voice-first hub that provides real-time shift guidance and alerts triggered by restaurant systems, thereby supporting QSR staff.

Vox AI will showcase ‘The Pit Stop,’ an immersive, fully functional electric go-kart activation and drive-thru experience, at the Foodservice Innovation Zone of the National Retail Federation’s Big Show 2026. The event will take place in New York City from January 11-13, 2026. Attendees will be able to experience next-generation drive-thru technology, including ordering a complimentary meal using Vox AI’s voice AI, making payments with Vox AI Pay powered by Adyen, and picking up orders from a go-kart or scheduling robot delivery.
