Managing in-house payroll processing and tax compliance presents a significant challenge for small businesses. A 2025 survey by the National Small Business Association indicates that 50 percent of small businesses dedicate over three hours monthly to payroll tax administration. To address these concerns regarding time and accuracy, Thryv (NASDAQ: THRY), a leading small business marketing and sales platform, has introduced Thryv Workforce Center. This payroll solution, powered by Gusto, aims to save small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) valuable time by managing payroll and automating tax calculations directly within their existing Thryv accounts.

Thryv Workforce Center functions as a comprehensive solution, simplifying the entire payroll process. It integrates essential tools for managing HR, taxes, and staff payments, and performs tasks such as direct deposit and the generation of tax forms.

Rees Johnson, Thryv’s Chief Product Officer, stated, “Thryv is a trusted partner to over 100,000 small businesses, and when we received growing requests to add payroll functionality to our platform, we listened. Most small businesses have to adopt separate payroll software, but now Thryv clients have the unique advantage of managing payroll within the same platform they use daily for their business and marketing operations.”

Clayton Stokum, CEO of Alpha Behavior Strategies, commented on the new offering, “Thryv has really helped me stay on top of the money coming in and made it easier to pay my employees as we continue to grow. It’s given me clarity on where my money is going, and that’s been a game-changer.”

Key benefits of Thryv Workforce Center include: centralized employee data, ensuring all employee and payroll information is stored in one secure, accessible location, which reduces errors and saves administrative time. Full-service payroll for W-2s and 1099s is provided, allowing businesses to easily pay employees and contractors with automatic local, state, and federal tax filings, helping to ensure compliance. Multiple payment options are available, with employers able to choose between check or a two-day direct deposit facilitated by Plaid, Inc. Employees gain accessibility through a dedicated portal, enabling them to update direct deposit information and access pay stubs and tax forms at any time. The solution features simple and transparent pricing, where employers pay only for active W-2 employees monthly and contractors only in the months they are paid, with unlimited payroll runs and filings included. Additionally, it offers flexibility, being suitable for businesses hiring their first employee or those looking to switch from another system.

Yi Liu, General Manager of Gusto Embedded, remarked, “We understand that small business owners everywhere seek to save time and reduce errors with all-in-one solutions. With the launch of Thryv’s Workforce Center, more small businesses in sectors like home services, healthcare, and legal now have a new option to manage their team and their business in one place. We’re thrilled they partnered with Gusto Embedded to build a payroll product specifically designed for their customers within Thryv’s platform.”
