Republic Europe has launched the Kraken SPV, an investment vehicle designed to provide retail investors with an indirect equity interest in Kraken, a prominent digital asset platform, prior to its reported initial public offering.
This initiative marks a significant development for the European market, as it aims to democratize access to later-stage investment opportunities traditionally reserved for institutional and professional investors. Companies with multi-billion dollar valuations and substantial revenue growth often remain private for extended periods, limiting broader participation in wealth creation.
Kraken, founded in 2011, has grown into a global financial operating system serving over 13 million users. Recent financial data indicates the company generated $1.6 billion in revenue in 2024, representing a 138% year-over-year increase, alongside a reported EBITDA of $421 million. The platform’s valuation is approximately $20 billion, solidified by strategic backing from firms such as Citadel Securities and Jane Street.
Theodora Bishop, Senior Investment Manager at Republic Europe, stated, “With many companies staying private for longer, the most significant wealth creation opportunities do not enable access for the masses. The launch of the Kraken SPV offers a rare opportunity: enabling the community to take an indirect financial interest in a global leader shaping the future of finance. This marks a defining moment for Republic Europe, and investors, as we bring private-market quality into the public sphere.”Investors participating in the Kraken SPV will hold an indirect interest in the company’s equity, allowing them to potentially benefit from Kraken’s future performance. Republic Europe has not yet confirmed whether investors will have the option to tokenize their holdings within the SPV.
Pre-registration for this investment opportunity is currently open. Individuals who register their interest will be notified when the SPV officially opens for investment.
Republic Europe operates as a global financial technology platform focused on private markets. Through its regulated platforms in the UK and EU, it facilitates investments in startups, growth-stage companies, and alternative assets, aiming to make them accessible beyond institutional investors. The platform serves a global community of over 3 million individuals and has facilitated billions in investments.
