Armis, a cyber exposure management and security company, has announced that PGP Glass Private Limited is utilizing Armis Centrix™, its Cyber Exposure Management Platform, to secure the design, decoration, and production processes for its premium glass packaging solutions.

Prior to integrating Armis Centrix™, PGP Glass encountered significant challenges in its operational environment. The company faced difficulties in gaining comprehensive visibility, protecting, and managing an increasing number of users and devices, including operational technology (OT) and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, which had grown by 60%. This challenge was compounded by the presence of legacy technology within its network. A critical concern for PGP Glass was preventing data leakage and the exfiltration of essential Intellectual Property (IP), such as documentation for glass molds and sensitive customer design files. Furthermore, ensuring a real-time, reliable data feed was crucial for its energy optimization model, which employs AI and machine learning to enhance efficiency and reduce waste in manufacturing processes.

Armis Centrix™ now functions as a core component of PGP Glass’s technology ecosystem, enabling the monitoring, mapping, and relaying of essential insights from over 10,000 sensors and sources, including OT, IoT, and SAP systems. This comprehensive data spans various operational parameters, from water levels in borewells to energy consumption in pits and furnaces.

Yevgeny Dibrov, CEO and Co-Founder of Armis, highlighted the importance of securing manufacturing facilities for societal stability. “The security of manufacturing facilities is essential to keeping society as we know it running effectively,” Dibrov stated, emphasizing that disruptions can lead to product scarcity and supply chain strains. He added that Armis is committed to supporting PGP Glass and building on their achieved results for the benefit of consumers globally.

Sudip Mazumder, Global Chief Digital and Information Officer of PGP Glass, underscored the necessity of continuous, secure, and uncompromised data for their data-driven manufacturing operations. “Being a data-driven manufacturing company, it is of the utmost importance for us to ensure that data on our assets, vulnerabilities and security controls coming in is continuous, secure and uncompromised, and that we know exactly what is happening within our environment in real time,” Mazumder explained, noting Armis’s effectiveness in this regard. He further elaborated that Armis provides the reliable data needed to build robust AI models, contributing to substantial annual savings through improved operational visibility and secure device management. “That is where Armis is doing its work to ensure the devices are visible and operational parameters are visible, which provides us data reliability. We save substantially every year through our AI / ML models based on the reliable data from operations. Hence, it is so important for us to have both the IT and the OT network running properly and securely.”

With the implementation of Armis Centrix™, PGP Glass has significantly enhanced its situational awareness of all network-connected assets, leading to a stronger overall security posture and successful prevention of IP exfiltration. The real-time, contextual, and reliable data provided by the platform has also equipped PGP Glass with the insights necessary to improve production efficiencies and minimize waste.

Amit Jha, General Manager and Global Head IT and Cybersecurity at PGP Glass, commented on the previous lack of a comprehensive tool. “Prior to Armis, we did not have a tool that was strong enough or intelligent enough to provide the comprehensive understanding we needed of all of the assets in our environment,” Jha said. He noted that operational technology data, a critical missing piece, is now provided by Armis, enabling complete insights. PGP Glass plans to extend the Armis implementation across all its locations.

PGP Glass, a Blackstone portfolio company, operates manufacturing facilities in Kosamba and Jambusar, India, and Horana, Sri Lanka, with a combined manufacturing capacity of 1730 tons per day. The company utilizes 12 furnaces and 70 production lines to craft specialty glass packaging products. PGP Glass provides comprehensive services, including design, advanced mold making, and decoration, establishing itself as a global leader in glass packaging for the Cosmetics & Perfumery, Specialty Food & Beverage, and Pharmaceutical industries through innovation and consistent quality.
