Pathward Financial, a US financial holding company operating through its subsidiary Pathward, N.
A., and TabaPay, a money movement platform, have extended their partnership through 2031 to expand faster payment capabilities across various lending and money movement use cases.
The renewed agreement is designed to support the development of payment solutions, with a focus on lending disbursements, cross-border money movement, and preferred account funding. Both companies aim to address evolving requirements from consumers and businesses in the financial sector.
Under the expanded partnership, Pathward will continue its role in providing acquiring sponsorship for TabaPay, facilitating two-way money movement capabilities. TabaPay intends to leverage this infrastructure to support direct-to-consumer services, including early and earned wage access, instalment loans, and loan repayments, alongside other payment flows. Loan proceeds can be distributed through the ACH network and push-to-card payments, while repayments are supported via ACH and acquiring.
In certain lending arrangements, Pathward also provides credit sponsorship for lending partners, with TabaPay managing the underlying money movement infrastructure. The companies have collaborated since 2020, initially concentrating on faster transfers to eligible network-branded cards through Mastercard Move and Visa Direct. The extended agreement introduces additional payment capabilities, such as PULSE Disbursements, which now enable payments to Discover Network branded cards.
