Olo, a technology platform for restaurants, has completed the acquisition of Spendgo, a loyalty and guest engagement platform. This acquisition aims to integrate loyalty solutions with Olo’s existing ordering, payment, guest data, and marketing tools for restaurant brands.
Approximately 65% of locations currently using Olo utilize loyalty solutions, prompting customer demand for an integrated offering. Olo Loyalty, powered by Spendgo’s platform, seeks to enhance guest engagement and improve profitability by consolidating guest profiles and enabling personalized experiences across various touchpoints.
By unifying loyalty data with Olo’s Guest Data Platform (GDP) and marketing tools, restaurant brands can create comprehensive guest profiles. This integration is designed to automatically enrich profiles with each interaction, leading to more accurate attribution and a clearer understanding of how loyalty programs influence customer behavior and revenue.
Noah Glass, Founder and CEO of Olo, stated that bringing loyalty capabilities in-house will drive innovation and deliver seamless experiences for customers. He emphasized that integrating loyalty with Olo’s solutions enables faster development and a more intuitive experience, providing customers with unified insights and the ability to personalize every guest interaction.
Ivan Matkovic, CEO and Founder of Spendgo, expressed enthusiasm about joining Olo and extending their loyalty solution to Olo’s customer base. He noted that the collaboration will assist brands in acquiring customers, increasing repeat visits, and maximizing guest lifetime value.
Spendgo’s platform is designed for in-store enrollment, using phone-number-based loyalty to achieve lower customer acquisition costs compared to app-based or payment-method-dependent alternatives. Its passwordless authentication approach aligns with Olo Accounts, aiming for a frictionless experience across ordering, payment, and loyalty transactions. The platform serves over 120 restaurant brands, including Cold Stone Creamery, Kahala brands, Captain D’s, Golden Chick, bb.q Chicken, and Nekter.
Spendgo’s leadership, including CEO Ivan Matkovic, will join Olo to continue developing the loyalty offering. Olo Loyalty is immediately available, building on Spendgo’s prior integration partnership. Deeper integrations across Olo’s product portfolio are planned for early 2026.
