KnowBe4, a platform dedicated to human and agentic AI risk management, has established a new office in Arlington, Virginia, expanding its operational presence within the Washington, D.
C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region to strengthen its investment in the public sector and commitment to addressing evolving national security challenges.
This new Arlington location will serve as a strategic hub for KnowBe4’s leadership, customer engagement, and partner collaboration. The office aims to bolster relationships with federal, state, and local agencies, alongside the broader government technology ecosystem. The DMV area is also designated as a key region for future hiring, specifically for customer-facing roles.
Bryan Palma, president and CEO of KnowBe4, emphasized the strategic importance of this expansion. “Cybersecurity is a national security imperative, and humans are the most important layer of defense,” Palma stated. “By expanding in Arlington, we are working side-by-side with federal agencies, local governments, and educational institutions to protect humans and AI agents. Our expansion also allows us to recruit the area’s best and brightest talent to outpace AI-driven threats and secure the future of our most critical public services.”KnowBe4’s expanded presence in the DMV region reflects the company’s expertise in cybersecurity across government, industry, and academia. Mr. Palma brings extensive experience in national security and cyber policy, including service on the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC), involvement with the U.
S. Secret Service, and board membership on the Duke University Cybersecurity Industry Advisory Board.
Kate Ange, acting director of Arlington Economic Development, welcomed KnowBe4’s decision. “KnowBe4’s strategic decision to expand its offices into Arlington, VA is a testament to the enduring strength of Arlington as a key destination for companies seeking top talent and a welcoming business climate,” Ange commented. She added that KnowBe4 stands to benefit from Arlington’s “unique and thriving innovation ecosystem of federal cybersecurity policymakers and thought leaders working collaboratively with private enterprises and research institutions.”The opening of the Arlington office comes at a time of increasing concern regarding artificial intelligence, deepfakes, and misinformation, threats that increasingly target public institutions, elections, and critical infrastructure. KnowBe4 aims to assist organizations in preparing both human workforces and AI agents to identify, respond to, and mitigate these risks, thereby fostering a more trusted and resilient operational environment. KnowBe4 empowers workforces to make smarter security decisions daily, supporting over 70,000 organizations worldwide in building security culture and managing human and agent risk through its comprehensive Human Risk Management (HRM+) platform.
