Intuit Inc., a global financial technology platform, and Anthropic, an AI safety company, have announced a multi-year partnership. This collaboration aims to integrate custom AI agents for mid-market businesses on the Intuit platform and embed Intuit’s financial expertise within Anthropic’s AI environments, leveraging Anthropic’s Claude Agent SDK.
This collaboration introduces a first-of-its-kind capability for the mid-market by integrating Anthropic’s Claude Agent SDK directly into the Intuit platform. Businesses across various sectors will gain the ability to develop and deploy secure AI agents designed for compliant workflows and tailored to their specific operational needs. These specialized agents will offer industry-specific skills, moving beyond basic automation tools. For instance, a regional restaurant group operating 15 locations could use Intuit Intelligence to orchestrate and deploy Claude within the Intuit Enterprise Suite. The custom agent would combine third-party data from sales and inventory applications with Intuit data, such as food costs, payroll, and workforce hours across all locations, to automatically highlight margin variances and identify underperforming sites, aiding in business management and growth.
Similarly, a regional construction subcontractor managing an annual project volume of $50 million could create an agent connecting project timelines, lien waivers, customer communications, and subcontractor payments to their cash flow forecast. This agent would automatically flag billing gaps, ensure compliance deadlines are met, and facilitate informed decision-making. Beyond custom agents, Intuit’s financial intelligence will be directly accessible within Anthropic products, including Cowork, Claude for Enterprise, and Claude.ai, through integrations with TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp.
Intuit’s platform, designed as a system of intelligence, orchestrates financial data across disparate systems and applications, enabling Claude users to access Intuit’s money, tax, and accounting experiences. For example, a solopreneur could connect a spreadsheet of transactions to Claude and leverage Intuit’s integrated invoicing and payment tools to generate a professional, pay-enabled invoice. Consumers could connect their data to Claude, use Intuit’s tax tools to estimate refunds, and schedule consultations with AI-powered TurboTax experts for filing and debt management assistance.
Alex Balazs, chief technology officer of Intuit, stated that the partnership unlocks “unrivaled benefits that are customized to the specific needs of every consumer and business, wherever they choose to get work in.” He added that combining Intuit’s proprietary data and domain-specific services with AI models built for security, accuracy, and compliance, alongside Claude’s capabilities, will deliver “custom AI agents that truly understand their finances, their workflows, and their industry, and can take action on their behalf.” Paul Smith, chief commercial officer at Anthropic, commented that the integration “will enable Intuit customers to build and use AI agents that understand their specific industry, workflows, and compliance requirements.” Smith also noted that Claude Code assists Intuit’s engineering organization in faster development and improved user experiences. These new experiences are slated for a rollout to Intuit customers and Anthropic users in spring 2026. Intuit is also implementing Claude Code internally to enhance engineering productivity.
All agents and experiences developed through this partnership are designed to operate securely within Intuit’s platform, leveraging customer data and Intuit’s investments in AI innovation, security, and compliance. Intuit emphasizes a commitment to data privacy and responsible AI governance, applying user data with customer permission to power experiences within Anthropic’s environment, supported by technical and organizational safeguards.
