Pindrop, a specialist in authentication and fraud detection, has partnered with BT, a leading communications service provider, to deliver advanced voice security solutions to BT Group’s enterprise customers across the UK. This collaboration aims to address the significant increase in contact center fraud and emerging deepfake threats.
The partnership comes as contact center fraud has increased by over 100% since 2021, with an additional 26% year-over-year rise. Currently, one in every 599 calls is identified as fraudulent, highlighting the demand for enhanced protection measures.
Pindrop will support BT customers in navigating this evolving threat landscape by integrating its patented authentication and fraud detection technologies, Pindrop® Protect and Pindrop® Passport, into BT’s enterprise portfolio. These voice biometric technologies are designed to reduce operational costs and strengthen security postures for UK businesses.
The integrated Pindrop technology combines device recognition, Phoneprinting® technology, behavioral analysis, and synthetic deepfake detection. Deepfake activity in contact centers has seen a nearly seven-fold increase over the past year, with one in every 106 calls now classified as “non-live.” By embedding Pindrop’s multi-layered detection within BT’s communications network, UK enterprises gain a defense against these escalating threats.
Bucky Wallace, Chief Revenue Officer at Pindrop, commented on the development: “With one in 106 calls already showing signs of deepfake activity, threats like synthetic speech and agentic AI are reshaping the fraud landscape. Together with BT, we are providing UK enterprises with advanced voice intelligence that adapts, identifies risk earlier, and secures contact centers for both security and customer experience.”
Pindrop’s native integration capabilities with leading Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) platforms were a factor in the collaboration, ensuring BT can support customers across various contact center environments. This flexible architecture facilitates rapid deployment, simplified maintenance, and unified threat detection across both legacy and cloud-based systems.
This approach is designed to help organizations achieve measurable return on investment through improved fraud prevention, streamlined customer authentication, and reduced agent handling time, while maintaining a frictionless experience for legitimate customers. The new capabilities are now available to UK enterprise customers, aiming to safeguard brands and institutions against evolving deepfake-driven fraud and AI-powered attacks.
