Bonterra, a company specializing in social impact technology, has launched a new native integration between its peer-to-peer fundraising platform, DonorDrive, and Meta’s Instagram and Facebook platforms. This integration aims to streamline fundraising efforts for nonprofit organizations, making it easier to expand their reach and manage campaigns efficiently.
The new feature enables nonprofits to share fundraising campaigns directly into social feeds with built-in donate buttons and real-time tracking. This allows personal, team, or event fundraising pages to be posted natively to Instagram and Facebook Feeds, Stories, and Profiles, transforming standard shares into branded and verifiable fundraisers. Bonterra states that nonprofits using DonorDrive already experience a 154% increase in funds raised per campaign. The new integration is designed to further enhance these results by increasing donations from social media, expanding organic reach through supporter networks, and strengthening brand presence in social feeds, while reducing manual management time.
Nonprofits frequently encounter challenges such as declining social media engagement and pressure to grow revenue through supporter-led fundraising. This integration addresses these issues by converting supporter shares into trusted fundraisers with embedded features designed to improve conversion rates and extend reach. Donations are processed directly on DonorDrive fundraising pages and are reflected instantly in campaigns, eliminating the need for reconciliation or workarounds.
Scott Brighton, CEO of Bonterra, commented, “Nonprofits rely on social media to raise money for their events and campaigns, yet the industry has experienced declines in revenue from social channels in recent years. This integration will combat declining revenue by increasing fundraising content relevance and trust for supporters’ networks.” He added that in line with Bonterra’s mission to help grow charitable giving and volunteerism to 3% of U.S. GDP by 2033, the company is developing intuitive tools that enable nonprofits to achieve greater impact with less effort, reducing friction in the giving process.
Key benefits of this new sharing feature include native social sharing for amplification across Facebook Feeds and Instagram Stories and Profiles; a built-in donate button that directs users to DonorDrive fundraising pages, enhancing click-through rates; a nonprofit-branded donor experience where all gifts are processed through DonorDrive’s existing systems, maintaining brand consistency; and reliable data and reporting within DonorDrive for accurate insights into social fundraising performance.
Annie Lewis, Head of Global Government, Politics, Advocacy and Compliance at Meta, stated, “We’re excited to launch new tools that help nonprofits fundraise more effectively through Facebook and Instagram. Working with innovative partners like Bonterra DonorDrive allows us to expand social impact through nonprofits’ platforms of choice and deliver tools that make a real impact.”
All DonorDrive nonprofit customers now have access to this integration. To utilize this feature, nonprofits must be enrolled in Meta’s fundraising tools. Bonterra, headquartered in Austin, Texas, provides technology solutions for nonprofits, charitable foundations, and socially responsible companies across fundraising, corporate social responsibility, and case management, aiming to increase global impact.
