BitGo Europe GmbH, a subsidiary of BitGo Holdings, Inc. and a BaFin-licensed entity under MiCA, has been appointed as an additional custodian for Virtune’s Exchange-Traded Product (ETP) program. This appointment specifically involves providing custody services for the Virtune Stablecoin Index ETP (ISIN: SE0026821282).
The expansion of Virtune’s ETP program capabilities is supported by a robust regulatory framework. BitGo Europe’s MiCA license from BaFin ensures that regulated custody standards are applied to digital assets within the ETP structure. Virtune’s ETPs are themselves designed to meet European regulatory requirements, providing institutional investors with a regulated and accountable framework for their assets.
BitGo, with over a decade of experience, operates as an institutional digital asset infrastructure provider. Its services, including institutional-grade cold storage backed by up to $250 million in insurance coverage, are designed to offer operational reliability and security for Virtune’s investors. The company serves thousands of institutional clients and regulated platforms globally.
Jody Mettler, Chief Operating Officer at BitGo, stated, “Virtune has been a valued partner, and this expansion is a natural evolution of a relationship built on operational excellence and mutual trust. European institutional investors deserve the same level of infrastructure that BitGo provides globally: regulated custody, extensive asset support, and proven security. We are proud to support Virtune as they continue to grow their ETP offering across European exchanges.”
Christopher Kock, CEO at Virtune, commented, “We are pleased to add BitGo as an additional custodian within our ETP program. Their capabilities in digital asset custody and broad asset coverage support our continued product expansion and ongoing innovation.”
Virtune, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is a regulated digital asset manager and ETP issuer in Europe. The company manages 23 ETPs with approximately $300 million in assets under management and serves over 160,000 investors. Its products are listed on multiple European exchanges, including Deutsche Börse Xetra, Nasdaq Stockholm, Nasdaq Helsinki, Euronext Amsterdam, Euronext Paris, and the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW). Virtune’s ETP program also incorporates a collateral agent to provide additional legal protection for investors.
