Bitdefender, a global cybersecurity leader headquartered in Bucharest, Romania, and CKH Innovations Opportunities Development (CKH IOD), a telecom unit of CK Hutchison Group Telecom Holdings, have expanded their strategic partnership to deliver advanced endpoint protection solutions for personal computers and mobile devices to customers of Drei Austria.

This expansion builds on Bitdefender’s existing support for CKHGT companies in the UK and Italy. The new collaboration enables Drei Austria subscribers to access leading-edge digital protection services. Drei Austria, a 100% subsidiary of CK Hutchison Holdings Limited, reported a total revenue of 958 million euros in 2024 and operates as a telecommunication provider offering mobile communication, internet, fixed line, TV, and business solutions in Austria.

According to a global survey of over 7,000 consumers, 78% utilize mobile devices for sensitive transactions, including banking, bill payments, and healthcare. Despite this, nearly 45% of respondents admitted to not using any form of mobile security solution. The survey also indicated that almost a quarter (24.3%) experienced at least one security incident in the past year, ranging from scams and account compromises to malware infections. The demand for robust security is heightened by increasingly sophisticated AI-driven attacks targeting personal data, identity, and privacy.

To address these challenges, Drei Austria will integrate the Bitdefender Subscriber Protection Platform into its consumer services portfolio. This platform, designed for telco providers, offers advanced cybersecurity and privacy services. It includes endpoint protection against malware, phishing attacks, online scams, and identity theft, supporting Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices for both home and mobile use. For mobile devices, the solution will be delivered via Bitdefender OneApp, a unified application that manages cybersecurity services through a single interface.

Beyond individual protection, Drei Austria is focusing on safeguarding families and extended communities through its ‘community’ plans. These plans extend security solutions across households and family networks, aiming to ensure customers can confidently use their devices in today’s connected environment.

Günter Lischka, CCO at Drei Austria, stated, “Consumers rely on their devices daily to shop, bank, and stay connected, which unfortunately makes them prime targets for cybercriminals. Our partnership with Bitdefender empowers us to deliver trusted, advanced protection that strengthens the digital safety of our customers.”

Ciprian Istrate, senior vice president of operations, Bitdefender Consumer Solutions Group, commented, “As digital threats continue to accelerate, the need for accessible and reliable security has never been greater. By extending our partnership with CKH IOD to Drei Austria, customers now gain enhanced protection across all their devices, ensuring greater security and privacy online.”

Francesco Zampini, director of devices and digital products & services at CKH IOD, noted that the Drei Austria rollout marks a new chapter by introducing Bitdefender’s protection to desktop PCs for the first time within this partnership, following previous successful launches in Italy and the UK. CKH IOD serves as an international development hub for CK Hutchison Group Telecom, which operates mobile networks across several European countries and Asia.
