CellTrust Corporation, a global provider of secure and compliant mobile communications, has introduced RCS Message Capture, now available on Google Pixel for Business and Android Enterprise, expanding its SL2 Enterprise Capture platform to bolster compliance for organizations in highly regulated sectors.
CellTrust SL2 Enterprise Capture has been identified as one of the initial third-party applications to support Android RCS Archival, a new capability designed to allow businesses to capture and archive messages sent by employees using Google Messages on any fully managed Android device. This development aims to assist Google Pixel for Business in delivering enhanced mobile communications security and compliance.
Organizations operating in highly regulated environments, such as financial services and government, are subject to stringent requirements to capture, monitor, and archive work-related text messages. CellTrust’s SL2 Enterprise Capture mobile communication platform is engineered to streamline this compliance process. All Google Messages, including RCS, SMS, and MMS, sent or received through the device’s default messaging application, are securely captured by CellTrust SL2 Enterprise and subsequently archived to the organization’s designated Enterprise Information Archiving (EIA) platform for regulatory compliance and retention. The integration of Android RCS Archival extends CellTrust’s existing capture capabilities, enhancing overall mobile communication security and compliance.
Key benefits of RCS Capture with SL2 Enterprise include secure message capture and archival, administrative management of Android RCS Archival across an organization, and an Android-supported solution specifically for highly regulated industries.
Sean Moshir, Chairman and CEO of CellTrust, commented on the new offering, stating, “Google Pixel, alongside other Android devices utilizing Android Enterprise, is at the forefront of providing Android RCS Archival, a new, secure capability. We are proud that CellTrust SL2 Enterprise Capture has been chosen as one of the first third-party applications to support this breakthrough, helping Google Pixel for Business deliver next-level mobile communications security and compliance. By adding Android RCS Archival, CellTrust broadens our already extensive capture platform, enhancing compliance for our customers in highly regulated industries such as financial services and government.”
The RCS archival feature on Google Pixel is developed with a focus on compliance and administrative control. For IT administrators, enabling archival involves a straightforward configuration within Android Enterprise, where it is defaulted off and can be activated by specifying the package name of the designated archival application. Once configured, the system logs every significant RCS message event, including when a message is sent, received, edited, or deleted. This technical design ensures that archival applications can capture message data promptly before any potential user modifications, such as message deletion.
Furthermore, to maintain transparency with employees, Google Messages incorporates clear user-facing indicators that signal when message archival has been enabled by the IT administrator. This comprehensive approach is designed to help businesses meet their stringent logging obligations while providing their workforce with secure and modern communication tools.
