Canary Capital Group LLC, an investment firm focused on digital assets, announced the launch of the Canary HBAR ETF (Nasdaq: HBR). This U.

S. exchange-traded fund is designed to provide spot exposure to HBAR, the native token of the Hedera network, and was declared effective by the U.

S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Trading for the fund is anticipated to commence on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, pending standard exchange procedures.

Steven McClurg, CEO and Founder of Canary Capital, stated that “The approval of a spot HBAR ETF represents a major step forward in broadening investor access to the digital asset economy.” He added, “Hedera is built for what’s next; enterprise tokenization, high-speed settlement, real-world Web3 infrastructure. For investors, HBAR offers a potential opportunity to gain exposure to a network already powering billions of transactions from some of the world’s largest Enterprises.”

As the digital asset market evolves beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum, investor interest is shifting towards assets with real utility, scalability, and enterprise adoption. Hedera’s proof-of-stake network, which is governed by global organizations including Google and IBM, processes millions of transactions daily with low fees and minimal energy consumption. These characteristics position it as a platform for asset tokenization, stablecoins, and decentralized applications.

The Canary HBAR ETF offers investors direct exposure to HBAR while circumventing the complexities associated with self-custody. This launch follows Canary Capital’s earlier introduction of the Canary HBAR Trust, which was the first U.

S. investment vehicle dedicated to HBAR.

McClurg further commented on the market’s trajectory, stating, “We’re entering a new era where tokenization is moving from concept to real-world adoption.” He emphasized Hedera’s central role in this transition: “Hedera is at the center of that shift—its network is already being used by enterprises to issue, settle, and track digital assets at scale. HBR gives investors a front-row seat to that evolution.”
