One Inc, a digital payments network for the insurance industry, has announced a strategic collaboration with Copart, Inc., a global leader in online vehicle auctions, to modernize and accelerate lienholder payments for total loss vehicle claims.
This partnership, announced at ITC Vegas 2025, integrates One Inc’s ClaimsPay® platform with Copart’s Title Express and Loan Payoff system. The objective is to deliver faster, more accurate payments to lienholders while enhancing the claims experience for insurance carriers and their customers. According to Axios, over 20% of accidents result in vehicles being declared a total loss, necessitating tens of billions in annual auto loan payoffs from insurance companies to lenders.
The rapid disbursement of lienholder payments aims to improve the experience for all involved parties: the insured, the insurance carrier, and the lienholder. Traditional paper-based processes have historically caused significant delays, leading to inefficiencies such as slower title transfers, postponed vehicle remarketing, and increased capital costs. These delays can raise operational costs for insurers and cause frustration for policyholders awaiting claim resolution.
One Inc’s ClaimsPay system addresses these issues by replacing outdated processes with a fully digital, integrated system utilizing modern payment rails. This streamlines financial settlements and lien releases, facilitating clear titles, smooth ownership transfers, and reduced reconciliation delays within insurance carrier payment operations. The system creates efficiency from the initial “payoff” button on the insurance core system through to lien satisfaction. The One Inc network, comprising over one million vendors, carriers, and other participants in the P&C marketplace, can now make payments to thousands of lienholders nationwide.
Ian Drysdale, CEO of One Inc, stated, “Our partnership with Copart is transforming lienholder payment management. Speed matters in claims, and this integration ensures payments move quickly and accurately. When lienholder payments are processed faster, Copart can move vehicles to auction sooner, generating immediate value for insurers and minimizing disruptions for all involved.”
Carriers can now initiate payments directly through their core systems or Copart’s platform, benefiting from real-time updates and VIN-based matching. These advancements are designed to reduce manual touchpoints and the risk of errors, while also enabling insurers to offer a superior customer experience.
Robert H. Vannuccini, Chief Sales Officer for Copart, commented, “Integrating One Inc’s ClaimsPay is the next step in modernizing this critical process. This partnership accelerates claim cycle times, cuts carrying costs, and helps all Copart Title Express stakeholders—insurers, customers, and lenders—move faster with greater transparency. Lenders utilizing Copart’s Lender Portal to provide total-loss payoff details will gain even more speed and efficiency from this new payment capability.”
