Data Dimensions Sees Record Partnership Demand Amid Expanding Electronic Billing Mandates

Data Dimensions, a provider of electronic Workers’ Compensation and Auto/No-Fault billing clearinghouse solutions, has reported a record number of partnership requests from healthcare providers, practice management systems (PMS), and electronic health record (EHR) vendors. This surge is attributed to the ongoing expansion of electronic billing mandates across the United States.

New York State’s mandate, which took effect in August 2025, requires all Workers’ Compensation bills to be submitted and accepted electronically by payors. This applies to any provider submitting bills to recipients in New York State, regardless of the provider’s physical location. Colorado is also set to implement similar electronic billing requirements on January 1, 2026.

This trend signifies a national move toward digital healthcare administration, shifting away from traditional paper-based billing. Currently, twelve states mandate electronic billing for various claim types, requiring compliance with ANSI electronic standards. These states include California, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

Healthcare providers are increasingly transitioning from print and mail processes to electronic submission workflows due to several benefits. These include faster bill status and payment processing, reduced errors, improved transparency, and lower administrative costs. Electronic submissions also offer immediate error identification capabilities and require insurers to acknowledge receipt within a specified timeframe, such as seven days in New York.

William Koerber, VP of Clearinghouse Services at Data Dimensions, stated, “Data Dimensions is committed to helping providers streamline operations and reduce costs through electronic billing. By choosing a compliant partner now, before mandates expand, providers can stay ahead of the curve and begin realizing the benefits of eBilling sooner.” Data Dimensions functions as an approved Electronic Submission Partner for the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board and collaborates with multiple other states to offer an extensive EDI network in the Property & Casualty market.

Established in 1982, Data Dimensions specializes in information management and business process automation, providing software and service solutions that cover the document management continuum for government, commercial, insurance, and financial industries, with a particular focus on Property & Casualty. The company is a portfolio entity of Thompson Street Capital Partners.
