Daylight Security has emerged from stealth, announcing a $7 million seed funding round led by Bain Capital Ventures to fuel the global expansion and development of its new class of managed security services, which combine advanced artificial intelligence (AI) with expert cyber analysts.
Designed to address complex and persistent cyber threats, Daylight’s approach aims to empower organizations to detect, investigate, and respond faster without expanding internal teams. The $7 million seed round also saw participation from Maple VC and a group of angel investors, including Torq co-founders Ofer Smadari, Leonid Belkind, and Eldad Livni; Cyera co-founders Tamar Bar-Ilan and Yotam Segev; and EON founder Ofir Ehrlich. The capital will support Daylight’s global expansion, accelerate platform development, and facilitate key hires across engineering and go-to-market teams.
Daylight offers advanced Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services that blend autonomous AI agents, capable of context-aware investigations and data analysis, with seasoned analysts who ensure accurate and effective threat resolution. This hybrid approach enables real-time response to cyberattacks, aiming to reduce alert fatigue, shorten resolution times, and minimize business impact. Within six months of its founding, Daylight is already serving multiple customers in the finance and technology sectors. The company currently employs approximately 20 team members across its offices in Tel Aviv, New York, and Singapore.
Hagai Shapira, CEO of Daylight, stated, “Modern cyber threats evolve at lightning speed, and traditional MDRs simply can’t keep up. Daylight goes beyond simple alert triage to deliver full-spectrum threat detection and resolution, combining advanced AI with expert human analysts for faster, more reliable outcomes. The security services market is undergoing a revolution, and Daylight is leading the way by bringing agentic AI innovation to one of the last frontiers untouched by this technology.”
Daylight was co-founded by Hagai Shapira and Eldad Rudich, alumni of elite Israeli intelligence units with extensive experience in leading technological innovation in cybersecurity. Rudich, the first employee at Torq, led the company’s development efforts and built complex automation systems, while Shapira served as Torq’s first product manager. Their work revealed a growing need for intelligent automation in Security Operations Centers (SOCs), alongside the understanding that while AI offers significant efficiency gains, it cannot replace the insight and decision-making of experienced human experts. This led to their development of a blended approach of advanced technology and human expertise.
The broader managed cybersecurity services sector, particularly the MDR market, is projected to exceed $15 billion USD by 2030. As cyberattacks grow in complexity and adversaries increasingly leverage automation, organizations face challenges with prolonged threat exposure, operational disruption, and rising costs. Traditional MDR offerings often involve complex implementation, provide partial coverage, and rely heavily on manual processes, leading to delayed responses and alert overload. Daylight aims to address these challenges with its platform, which combines AI-driven automation with expert analyst services, setting a new standard in the MDR space.
Daylight’s platform can be deployed in under an hour and integrates seamlessly with existing infrastructure, from cloud environments to on-premises systems. Operating continuously 24/7, it provides comprehensive capabilities beyond alert triage, including analysis, verification, and incident response. The system contextualizes each alert within the business environment, learns the organizational landscape, and identifies anomalies, aiming to reduce false positives. Customers have reported an approximate 80% reduction in Mean Time To Resolution (MTTR), alongside enhanced coverage and an improved ability to handle complex attacks, all without expanding their existing security teams.
Enrique Salem, partner at Bain Capital Ventures, commented, “Daylight is redefining what managed security services can look like in the age of AI. Hagai and Eldad bring a rare combination of deep technical experience and real-world insight from the SOC frontlines. We’re proud to back Daylight as they set a new standard for MDR—one that’s automated, scalable, and built for the cloud-first enterprise.”
