Yubico Launches YubiNation Partners Program to Expand Phishing-Resistant MFA Adoption

Yubico, a cybersecurity company known for its YubiKeys, has introduced YubiNation Partners, a new global channel program aimed at fostering a network of security experts to combat rising AI-driven cyber threats and accelerate the adoption of phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (MFA) and passwordless solutions. The program is designed to transform the traditional reseller model into a strategic growth engine, empowering partners to provide secure digital identities for their customers.

The launch comes as organizations face increasing cyber threats, with the average cost of a corporate security breach climbing to $4.4 million, and phishing remaining a primary attack vector. Relying solely on passwords is no longer deemed sufficient. A 2026 Total Economic Impact study by Forrester Consulting, commissioned by Yubico, indicated that replacing traditional multi-factor authentication (MFA) and one-time passwords (OTP) with YubiKeys led to a 265% return on investment (ROI). This approach reportedly eliminated phishing and credential-theft risks, reducing an organization’s risk exposure to breach costs from addressable attacks by 99.99%.

Bettina Vahl, Vice President of Global Channels at Yubico, stated, “With YubiNation Partners, Yubico is embracing a Partner-first strategy, moving beyond traditional resale to build a dedicated community of security experts who are shaping the future of digital identity.” She added that the program is structured to enable partners to become trusted advisors, providing them with the necessary innovation, speed, and scale to assist customers in adopting passwordless security.

The YubiNation Partners program features four distinct partnership tiers that acknowledge technical expertise, investment, and collaboration. Each tier offers specific enablement and benefits: Bronze focuses on rapid enablement through the Yubico Academy and authorized distributors; Silver unlocks lead sharing and co-sell support for opportunities involving over 200 users; Gold provides priority access to Market Development Funds (MDF), a dedicated go-to-market team, and an allocation of up to 25 Not-for-Resale (NFR) keys per quarter; and Platinum offers the strongest deal incentives, services leads, direct access to MDF, invitations to exclusive strategic events, business planning sessions, and an NFR allocation of up to 50 keys per quarter.

To support its channel ecosystem, Yubico has expanded the Yubico Academy over the past year, offering 100-series (Essentials), 200-series (Sales), and 300-series (Technical Sales) certifications. Following partner feedback, the 400-series, focused on Professional Services and including proof-of-concept completion, is now available to Platinum and Gold tier partners. This initiative aims to treat partners as an extension of Yubico’s team, enhancing their ability to streamline customer adoption of phishing-resistant solutions and deliver additional Professional Services.

Felix Brand, CISSP and cybersecurity architect at Germany-based Yubico partner SVA, commented, “The feedback from both my colleagues and I regarding the new Professional Services certifications has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly concerning the specialized vendor modules.” Brand noted that this structured approach offered a highly targeted experience aligned with the unique needs and strengths of individual consulting partners.

YubiNation Partners is designed to help trusted advisors capitalize on demand in a rapidly evolving market. Currently, YubiKeys are utilized by over 30% of Fortune 500 companies and 18 of the top 20 AI companies for workforce security. By participating in YubiNation, channel partners can leverage Yubico’s brand presence to potentially shorten sales cycles, drive recurring revenue, and influence the future of digital identity security. The program creates a unified ecosystem where partners can advise, build, and resell, supported by tailored enablement and campaign kits.

Jake Pederson, director of software, cloud, and security alliances at Zones, stated, “We see Yubico’s updated channel program as a strong step forward in supporting strategic partners like Zones.” He added that the investments in enablement, tiering, and services alignment position Zones to drive greater impact in the identity security market, empowering them to differentiate through technical expertise and global end-to-end delivery.

Existing Yubico partners will be automatically placed into one of the four program tiers based on current criteria, including revenue growth and completed Yubico Academy certifications. New partners interested in joining the YubiNation Partners community can submit an application via the Yubico website or through a local Yubico distributor.
