Fivetran, a global leader in automated data movement, has been chosen by Vistaprint to enhance its data activation capabilities and support the development of AI-ready customer experiences.

Vistaprint, a design and marketing partner for small businesses, will leverage Fivetran’s automated data pipelines and reverse ETL to connect governed first-party data directly into its marketing and customer engagement tools. This integration aims to streamline operations and optimize marketing performance by facilitating the movement of data from Vistaprint’s core systems into Snowflake, and then activating it back into operational applications.

The selection is part of Vistaprint’s multi-year modernization initiative, which includes a transition from on-premises systems to a cloud-first architecture and the adoption of a data mesh strategy. Vistaprint utilizes AWS, Snowflake, and analytics tools like Statsig to gain insights into how small businesses interact with its platform.

George Fraser, CEO of Fivetran, commented on the collaboration, stating, “Vistaprint’s business is built on helping small businesses look professional and connect with customers, and data is central to that mission. By using Fivetran to activate trusted first-party data across both paid and owned channels, Vistaprint can move faster, personalize experiences more effectively, and support AI-driven initiatives with confidence.”

For paid channels, Vistaprint will use reverse ETL to enrich platforms such as Google and Meta with its first-party data. This strategy is intended to enable more precise targeting and improve return on ad spend in programmatic advertising, reducing reliance on third-party signals in favor of internally governed customer data.

In its owned-channel experimentation and optimization strategy, reverse ETL will define and sync control and test groups across platforms including Statsig, Iterable, and Contentful. This ensures consistent audience eligibility and measurement of uplift across omnichannel campaigns, leading to more reliable experimentation results.

Drew Forster, Director of Marketing Optimization at Vistaprint, highlighted the impact: “Our marketing teams need fast access to trusted data in the platforms where campaigns are planned, launched, and optimized. Fivetran makes that possible by activating data directly into our marketing and customer engagement tools. It has changed how quickly we can personalize campaigns, test new ideas, and support the AI initiatives we’re investing in.”

Vistaprint’s expanding use of AI for recommendations, design workflows, and tailored customer interactions relies on a continuous flow of high-quality data into operational systems. Fivetran’s role will be to ensure this governed data is consistently moved and activated through reverse ETL, providing teams with reliable information directly within their decision-making environments.
