Team8, a venture creation platform specializing in cybersecurity, software infrastructure, FinTech, and digital health, has secured $365 million in new capital, increasing its total assets under management to nearly $2 billion across eight funds since its establishment in 2014.

The new capital comprises a $265 million third fund for Team8 Capital and an additional $100 million allocated for follow-on investments in its high-performing portfolio companies. This funding will be directed towards backing seed and Series A founders operating in sectors significantly influenced by artificial intelligence, including cybersecurity, software infrastructure, FinTech, and digital health. These areas are identified by Team8 as experiencing heightened urgency and opportunity as enterprises increasingly adopt AI technologies.

Team8’s investment strategy is characterized by close, hands-on collaboration with founders from a company’s earliest stages. This approach combines capital with support from a multidisciplinary in-house team and a network of enterprise C-level executives, known as “Villages.” The objective is to assist companies in refining their value proposition, testing solutions, and scaling operations more efficiently.

The firm refers to its portfolio founders as “ProFounders,” a term that emphasizes the long-term relationships cultivated with entrepreneurs through various funding stages and continued support as their businesses expand. Team8 stated that the additional capital will enhance its capacity to identify promising founders early, support the development of purpose-driven companies, and maintain engagement as long-term partners throughout their growth trajectory. The firm acknowledged the contributions of its limited partners, founders, internal team, and wider community in achieving this milestone, signaling its plans for continued expansion.
