Share It:

Square announced today an expansion of its partner ecosystem in 2026, reinforcing its position as a platform for sellers and partners. Major companies like Amazon, Apple, Intuit QuickBooks, and Uber Eats utilize Square, which aims to provide comprehensive tools through its App Marketplace.

Seventy-one percent of enterprise sellers currently use at least one of Square’s partner solutions. The Square App Marketplace facilitates seamless access and integration of tools designed to optimize business operations and scaling.

Morgan Kuntze, Global Partnerships Lead at Block, stated that Square was established to empower local businesses through an open, interconnected ecosystem. This approach offers sellers flexibility in accepting payments, reaching customers, and managing operations, while enabling partners to innovate, scale, and access a large base of engaged businesses. Kuntze noted that this investment strengthens Square’s end-to-end network through a flywheel of shared success.

The partner ecosystem allows businesses, from startups to rapidly scaling enterprises, to operate efficiently and confidently. Sellers can continue using preferred tools without re-working their backend systems and easily integrate new partners as their needs evolve.

Square integrates directly into existing digital workflows, enabling sellers to accept payments across various platforms, including websites, booking applications, and industry-specific platforms. The company supports nearly 1,000 partners, over two-thirds of whom have built integrations, across sectors such as food & beverage, retail, health and beauty, and professional services. Integrations include platforms like Wix, Whoosh, WooCommerce, and several electronic medical record (EMR) providers via Reference Health. Individual developers and sellers can also build custom solutions using Square’s open developer platform and APIs.

To enhance customer discovery, Square facilitates seller visibility across search engines, maps, social platforms, and online marketplaces. Integrations with platforms such as Google, social channels including Facebook and Instagram, and marketplaces like ClassPass, DoorDash, Groupon, Grubhub, and UberEats allow sellers to sync listings, activate channels, and enable direct ordering or booking. Square also collaborates with agencies like Griffin Collective and Vibe Digital Marketing to assist with SEO and targeted marketing.

Square partner integrations streamline back-office operations, including accounting, inventory, fulfillment, and general operations. Sales and accounting data can be synchronized with tools like QuickBooks, Restaurant365, and Xero. Inventory management is supported for Shopify users via Thrive, automation is facilitated through Zapier, distribution through the Etsy marketplace, and fulfillment through partners such as Faire, Printful, Shippo, and ShipStation.

The ecosystem also aids in decision-making by consolidating real-time transaction data, costs, inventory, and market signals. Integrations with analytics and reporting platforms offer insights into performance. Reservations solution OpenTable provides data on customer behavior, and HotSchedules plans to integrate Square’s real-time sales data to optimize restaurant scheduling and service quality.

Square collaborates with industry associations, technology advisors, and broadline food distributors. Partners like LegalZoom, FoundersCard, and Sysco provide backend connections, credits, and discounts. Square partners with US restaurant associations, including the California Restaurant Association, Illinois Restaurant Association, and New York State Restaurant Association, to assist sellers with technology evaluation and implementation. Square sellers also receive exclusive partner offers, such as $250 off bookkeeping with Paperchase.

Kuntze added that the expansion of enterprise partnerships in 2026 redefines Square as an open, flexible platform designed to scale with sellers at every stage of growth.
