SpeakUp, an ethics and compliance platform serving global brands such as BMW, Nestlé, and Swarovski, has announced a significant expansion of its offerings with the introduction of two new AI-powered solutions: SpeakUp Paths, an AI-powered disclosure and approval management solution, and an AI Voice Agent. This expansion transforms SpeakUp from a provider of speak-up channels and case management into a comprehensive ethics and compliance suite.
Simultaneously, SpeakUp is accelerating its footprint in the US market, a strategic initiative that includes the appointment of compliance industry veteran Tom McNamara to its Board of Directors.
“This launch reflects what compliance teams have been asking for – tools that go beyond intake to deliver clarity, speed, and real impact,” stated Tim Morss, CEO of SpeakUp. “With strong momentum globally and a strategic acceleration of our operations in the US, including the appointment of Tom McNamara to our Board, we’re entering a transformative new phase for SpeakUp and our customers.”
SpeakUp’s new AI Voice Agent, part of its whistleblower solution SpeakUp Report, offers a guided, conversational experience for reporting. It is designed to capture key details and generate structured, actionable reports for compliance teams. This system aims to overcome challenges associated with traditional hotlines, such as long wait times or language barriers, by providing instant response, consistent documentation, and maintaining privacy without requiring third-party operators.
SpeakUp Paths enables employees to securely disclose a wide range of potential risks, including gifts, bribery, entertainment, and personal relationships. This allows compliance teams to monitor issues in real time through a centralized workflow that captures various submissions, such as gifting or conflict of interest declarations. Employees receive instant, clear input via a secure dashboard and can track the status of their submissions, promoting transparency and accountability.
Key capabilities of SpeakUp Paths include surfacing potential risks for faster decisions and minimized exposure, providing real-time visibility through a centralized dashboard across teams and regions, offering instant employee feedback, and being tailored to reflect each organization’s unique processes. Designed for complex organizations, SpeakUp supports operations in more than 80 languages and scales across business units.
Both new solutions, along with the company’s existing suite, are underpinned by Sienna AI, SpeakUp’s proprietary AI intelligence layer. Sienna AI is engineered to enhance how information is captured, processed, and surfaced, providing compliance teams with increased speed, clarity, and actionable insights.
Regulatory scrutiny concerning AI use in the private sector is intensifying in the US, with several state Attorneys General applying consumer protection, privacy, and anti-discrimination laws to examine how businesses utilize AI in internal decision-making. This environment underscores the need for transparent, auditable, and defensible AI-driven processes, including employee disclosures, conflict-of-interest approvals, and policy adherence.
SpeakUp is strengthening its position as a compliance product suite for US enterprises and mid-market organizations, leveraging global adoption and increased domestic interest in agile, AI-powered solutions. The company’s US expansion plan for the second half of 2025 includes key regional hires and increased investment in go-to-market capabilities.
The appointment of Tom McNamara to SpeakUp’s Board of Directors is a component of this strategy. McNamara, currently CEO of Plixer, brings over 15 years of global leadership experience from senior roles at Navex, Avetta, and Viewpoint. He will collaborate with CEO Tim Morss to guide SpeakUp’s next phase of growth and scale its presence across the US market.
SpeakUp’s technology is used by over 600 companies, including Randstad, and more than 10 million individuals worldwide, aiming to simplify risk management and foster transparent workplace cultures.
