Sendero Energy Solutions and Finboot Partner to Introduce Verified Emissions Data Through Blockchain for Oil and Gas Operators

Share It:

Sendero Energy Solutions, LLC and Finboot have announced a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing emissions reporting for oil and gas operators. The collaboration seeks to replace estimated emissions data with verified, auditable information and establish secure digital traceability, integrating Sendero’s field-based methane and greenhouse gas (GHG) measurement expertise with Finboot’s blockchain-powered Track & Trace platform.

This initiative provides operators with a structured approach to meet regulatory compliance requirements and potentially capitalize on premium market opportunities. The demand for verifiable emissions data is escalating due to global standards such as OGMP 2.0 and CBAM, alongside new domestic reporting rules, making such data foundational for compliance, global market access, and future revenue streams in sectors like LNG and renewable fuels.

David Stewart, President of Sendero Energy Solutions, LLC, stated that linking on-the-ground measurement with blockchain-enabled transparency offers companies the ability to mitigate risks, satisfy regulatory demands, and improve their financial performance. He emphasized the shift from mere compliance to gaining a commercial advantage. Juan Miguel Pérez, CEO of Finboot, highlighted that energy markets are transitioning from reliance on promises to requiring concrete proof, with buyers and regulators increasingly demanding data capable of rigorous scrutiny. He noted that the partnership closes the gap between field accuracy and digital trust, enabling operators to compete globally and adapt to evolving standards.

Sendero Energy Solutions, LLC works with operators to address environmental and operational issues, providing integrated solutions from emissions monitoring and compliance management to well plugging and site reclamation. The company aims to reduce risk, ensure regulatory confidence, and create new opportunities like carbon credit generation, leveraging oilfield expertise with advanced measurement and reporting.
