Resecurity, a U.S.-based cybersecurity and threat intelligence company, has expanded its operations in Brazil to assist local enterprises, government institutions, and infrastructure providers in meeting Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD) requirements and enhancing regional cyber resilience.
Brazilian entities are navigating the demands of LGPD, with non-compliance carrying administrative sanctions from Brazil’s data protection authority (ANPD). These penalties can include fines of up to 2% of a company’s revenue in Brazil, capped at R$50 million per infraction. Beyond regulatory adherence, Brazil faces a high incidence of cybercrime, including data breaches and ransomware attacks, making LGPD compliance a critical cybersecurity imperative.
Resecurity’s entry into Brazil introduces advanced cybersecurity and compliance technologies designed to support organizations in aligning with LGPD. The company offers a suite of services structured around data protection and privacy principles. Its data cyber threat intelligence platform monitors the surface, deep, and dark web to identify compromised personal information, such as leaked customer records, credentials, or sensitive employee data. This capability allows organizations to detect potential violations early, mitigate reputational damage, and prevent identity theft or financial fraud. The platform also incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) to automate regulatory workflows, encompassing risk scoring, compliance checklists, incident logging, and report generation, aiming to reduce errors and accelerate LGPD compliance.
To support its regional strategy, Resecurity has appointed Luiz Cota as Territory Manager for Brazil. Mr. Cota brings over 30 years of experience in cybersecurity and information technology, with previous leadership roles at companies including Cisco, IronPort, SurfControl, Fidelis, and Offensive Security. He also founded Brazil’s first cyber-insurance brokerage and has advised various startups on cybersecurity and risk mitigation.
“Brazilian organizations are facing increasing pressure to comply with LGPD and protect sensitive data in a fast-evolving threat environment,” stated Luiz Cota, Territory Manager for Brazil at Resecurity. “Resecurity brings proven expertise in threat intelligence, risk management, and compliance automation, capabilities that are urgently needed in our region. I’m excited to help local businesses and public institutions strengthen their cyber resilience and take a proactive stance against emerging threats.”
Resecurity’s presence in the Brazilian market signifies a long-term commitment to supporting Brazil’s digital growth through privacy, security, and innovation. By providing threat intelligence and compliance automation alongside local expertise, Resecurity aims to enable organizations to meet LGPD standards confidently, contributing to a secure digital environment for individuals, companies, and the public sector in Brazil. The company, founded in 2016, offers a unified endpoint protection, fraud prevention, risk management, and cyber threat intelligence platform, with a focus on early-warning identification of data breaches and comprehensive protection against cybersecurity risks. Resecurity has been recognized for its data-driven intelligence solutions and its role in combating cyber threats.
