ReposiTrak (NYSE:TRAK) has announced the addition of 40 retail food suppliers to its ReposiTrak Traceability Network® (RTN), facilitating the exchange of intricate, FDA-required Key Data Elements (KDEs) to address growing traceability demands from their retail customers.
The expansion of the RTN aims to assist food suppliers in meeting compliance standards, particularly concerning the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Rule 204, which mandates enhanced traceability recordkeeping for certain foods. These new participants will utilize ReposiTrak’s SaaS platform to manage inventory and reduce out-of-stock incidents, alongside its core traceability functionalities.
Among the newly integrated suppliers are established entities within the food industry. This includes a tea bag brand from England, founded over 180 years ago, which is one of the world’s largest. Another addition is a Los Angeles-based company specializing in Japanese-inspired mochi ice cream. A third new supplier is a U.S. confectionery company, founded nearly 50 years ago, recognized for its successful sour candy and licorice brands sold across major retail channels.
Randy Fields, chairman and CEO of ReposiTrak, emphasized the importance of data integrity in traceability initiatives. “Data accuracy is the foundation of effective traceability,” stated Fields. “Every supplier has the data. However, every supplier’s data originates in a different system in a different format. The ReposiTrak Traceability Network operates without requiring additional hardware or software. The ReposiTrak team provides support for making the necessary connections under new regulations. Suppliers on the network can connect with an unlimited number of trading partners and share data through a flat-fee structure.
