Remitee, a provider of cross-border payments infrastructure, has secured $20 million in a new funding round. The investment was led by Krealo, with participation from a consortium of strategic and institutional investors who support Remitee’s mission to modernize the remittance market.

Founded to address the inefficiencies prevalent in traditional money transfer services, Remitee integrates international payment capabilities directly into platforms already utilized by banks, retailers, and FinTech companies. This approach allows users to conduct cross-border transactions without needing to exit their current digital environment or download additional applications. The company’s infrastructure also facilitates direct payments for essential services like healthcare, utilities, and education, alongside supporting prepaid cards and mobile top-ups.

The newly raised capital will be allocated towards expanding Remitee’s operations across Latin America and strengthening its market presence in the United States and Europe. The company aims to increase its enterprise customer base tenfold by 2027. Further investment will be directed into its hybrid treasury infrastructure, which enables instant settlement using both fiat currencies and stablecoins. Remitee also utilizes an AI-powered engine to enhance smart routing and regulatory compliance, offering partners increased flexibility and resilience.

Over 40 institutions currently leverage Remitee’s technology, including Santander, Banco Galicia, Banco Estado, BCP, Yape, Falabella, Copec, GetNet, Remitly, and MoneyGram. These firms have reportedly deployed new services in weeks rather than years by integrating Remitee’s system, with some experiencing double-digit growth in customer retention and transaction volume.

Remitee reported significant growth in 2024, quadrupling its transaction volume compared to the previous year and achieving sustained profitability. This performance underscores the scalability and sustainability of its embedded infrastructure model.

Speaking on the funding, Remitee CEO and co-founder stated, “We’re grateful to our clients, partners, and investors for believing in this vision. This round marks progress, but the journey is just beginning. Together, we’re building the infrastructure that will power the next generation of cross-border financial services.”
