Regions Bank has announced a series of upgrades to its Mobile Banking app, available for both iOS and Android devices, reflecting a focus on enhancing financial management and user convenience for its customers. These updates are part of the bank’s ongoing commitment to digital banking solutions.

Kristen Rankin, Regions Bank’s head of Digital, stated that the bank’s approach centers on leveraging technology to deliver new experiences and address customer needs in digital banking. Kate Danella, Regions’ head of Consumer Banking, highlighted that customer feedback has consistently driven these innovations since a major app redesign in 2020. Previous enhancements included card-management tools and budgeting features, with current upgrades building upon these improvements. Danella emphasized Regions’ relationship-driven strategy, combining new app features with one-on-one financial advice at branches to help build financial confidence.

The initial enhancements rolling out include: Enhanced Navigation, offering redesigned interfaces and shortcuts for common tasks like payments, transfers, and card controls via LockIt®. Easily Manage Finances, which consolidates views of bill and card payments, transfers, and money movement, providing a real-time financial overview. Building Financial Confidence, by making budgeting tools, banking rewards, and FICO® credit scores (for eligible customers) more accessible and intuitive directly from the updated home screen. Better Account Maintenance, through profile and settings upgrades, enabling account nicknaming, quick contact information updates, biometric ID management, and increased visibility of account and routing numbers. The app also offers 24/7 messaging support via Regions’ “Reggie” service.

Future updates planned for the coming months will introduce automated direct deposit movement, enhanced security settings, the ability to pay Regions credit cards from external bank accounts, and personalized insights offering customized guidance on spending and account activity. Regions is also transitioning to native app development to improve performance, provide greater flexibility for rapid feature introduction, and allow for more personalized experiences on preferred mobile platforms.

These updates support the bank’s 2.7 million active mobile users and incorporate feedback from nearly 200 Regions associates, customers, and non-customers, gathered over 15 tests across 10 months. Regions plans to continue leveraging customer and industry insights to further enhance the app experience. Rankin reiterated that technology is revolutionizing banking service access, and the enhanced mobile app represents a significant step in the bank’s transformative journey, with a commitment to continuous improvement based on customer input.
