PointCentral, a leader in smart property technology, in partnership with its strategic service provider ePropertyCare, has launched a new mobile safety and wellness solution at Altitude Baton Rouge. Altitude Baton Rouge, a student housing community managed by Tailwind Group, is located near Louisiana State University and Southern University. This new offering is designed to support residents and staff on-property and while in transit.

The mobile Safety Button offers national coverage and provides both preventative safety and immediate emergency support with concierge-level services. It is designed to connect users to police, fire, or emergency medical assistance. Nate Wysk, General Manager of PointCentral, stated, “Thriving rental communities are built atop the most foundational need for safe and secure living environments. The Safety Button puts a powerful, easy-to-use tool right in the pockets of residents and onsite staff. With Safety Button, our goal is simple: provide confidence and peace of mind with technology that works when it matters most.”

The Mobile Safety Button offers instant professional response, allowing residents and staff to connect to a trained monitoring center 24/7. It includes concierge-level services such as Safety Network and ‘walk together’ features. The platform also provides precise location tracking, enabling emergency responders to receive real-time location information via advanced GPS for faster assistance.

Nicky Tyus, Property Manager at Altitude Baton Rouge, commented, “I’m very excited about the launch of our new Safety Button feature. This tool empowers all of our residents with immediate access to assistance anywhere in the United States. It brings peace of mind not only to our students, but also to their parents and loved ones, knowing that help is just a button press away.” The Safety Button platform integrates tools aimed at enhancing resident well-being, including a home screen widget for quick access to help. Users can add notes to provide responders with critical context during an event and designate emergency contacts to receive alerts. A Timeline feature allows residents to log activities, providing insights for first responders if needed.

Charles Hadsell, CEO and Founder of ePropertyCare, noted, “This feature truly sets a new standard in personal safety. Today’s residents expect technology that not only makes their lives more convenient but also keeps them safe, and the Safety Button delivers on both fronts.” This mobile safety feature combines technology-backed automatic safety features with human-driven professional response, setting a new standard for resident protection in student housing environments. PointCentral operates as an independent subsidiary of Alarm.com, a platform for intelligently connected properties.
