Pipe, a fintech company specializing in embedded financial operating systems for small businesses, has announced its inaugural Australian customer: Live Payments, a prominent payment solutions provider serving over 10,000 small and medium-sized businesses. This collaboration marks Pipe’s expansion into Australia, making its product now live across the US, Canada, UK, and Australia.
Through this partnership, Live Payments’ customers will gain access to capital offers from Pipe directly within their existing Customer Portal, the platform they utilize to manage their payments. Eligible businesses will receive personalized, pre-approved capital offers that are determined by their unique revenue, cash flow, and overall business performance. Pipe’s underwriting engine assesses risk to provide these offers with transparent, upfront pricing.
The Australian market has historically been an early adopter of new financial technology. Despite this, the small and medium-sized business (SMB) lending sector in Australia remains predominantly controlled by larger banks. Research indicates that Australian small businesses face a funding gap of $38 billion, with more than half of all capital applications from SMBs proving unsuccessful. Pipe anticipates strong adoption of its capital product within this environment.
Luke Voiles, CEO of Pipe, stated, “Pipe is at an exciting stage, with an expansion playbook that lets us enter new markets quickly and a product designed to make a real difference for small businesses everywhere. Live Payments has been a great first partner for us in Australia, helping us show what’s possible when small businesses are given the capital and tools they need to thrive.”
Reuven Barukh, CEO of Live Payments, commented on the development: “We’re excited to expand access to working capital for our customers through our partnership with Pipe. Australian businesses have been quick to embrace new ways of accessing capital, and we’ve already seen strong demand for a solution like this. Our customers trust us with mission-critical parts of their business, and offering working capital is a natural next step in strengthening that relationship.” Live Payments has over 19 years of experience, offering a full suite of payment solutions.
Pipe’s capital offers are determined solely by historical business performance and cash flow, eliminating the need for traditional credit checks, personal guarantees, or extensive documentation. Pipe, which has an established Australian business entity, views Australia as an attractive market for both its existing global customers and local Australian companies seeking to integrate embedded financial solutions into their operations.
