Pacific Life’s Workforce Benefits business has announced a new Evidence of Insurability (EOI) API integration with Selerix, a cloud-based benefits administration solution provider, enabling employees to complete EOI applications directly within the enrollment process and receive near real-time decisions.

Pacific Life, a Fortune 500 company based in Newport Beach, California, provides a range of products and services across retail, institutional, workforce benefits, and reinsurance markets. Its Workforce Benefits division offers dental, vision, group term life with accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), short-term and long-term disability, accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurance. Selerix is a benefits administration provider offering a flexible platform, ACA reporting, and employee engagement tools, trusted by over 26,000 employer groups and 14 million individuals.

This enhanced connection allows for automatic updates via the Selerix portal, creating a faster and more streamlined experience for all stakeholders. Gary Godin, senior vice president and co-head of Workforce Benefits at Pacific Life, stated, “Pacific Life’s digital ecosystem reaches new heights with Selerix’s full API integration. This powerful connection allows us to fully utilize the capabilities of our digital advantage.”

According to Godin, the integration enables employees to complete EOI applications by answering a brief set of questions within minutes, without requiring paramedical exams. He added that in more than 95 percent of cases, employees receive swift decisions, significantly reducing the time and administrative burden associated with traditional EOI processes.

Ruthie Gray, vice president of product at Selerix, commented on the partnership, “We are thrilled to partner with Pacific Life to deliver a seamless, next-generation EOI experience. This integration is more than a technical milestone, it’s a shared commitment to modernizing benefits administration and simplifying the process for employees, employers, and brokers alike.”

This collaboration positions Pacific Life as one of a limited number of employee benefits carriers to integrate with both Selerix’s Enrollment and EOI APIs, aiming to further streamline and automate the benefits administration experience. The digital connection aims to eliminate wait times and administrative burdens, with decisions automatically transmitted to the Selerix platform, removing the need for brokers to manually update status.
