Online Payment Platform (OPP), a Worldline Group company and a provider of payment solutions for platforms and marketplaces, has announced a strategic partnership with SUNMI, a global provider of BIoT hardware, to offer an in-store and omnichannel embedded payment proposition for software providers and resellers across Europe.
The collaboration integrates OPP’s full-stack, out-of-the-box payment infrastructure with SUNMI’s ecosystem of devices designed for SoftPOS commerce. This unified solution aims to remove the complexities of fragmented technology stacks and integrations, enabling SaaS platforms and resellers to support diverse payment use cases, from traditional countertop to mobile and self-service scenarios.
The partnership seeks to simplify payment monetization for software providers who have historically faced challenges in integrating payments and hardware. It aims to reduce technical overhead for development teams, streamline commercial and sales processes, and accelerate merchant onboarding and deployment across multiple European markets.
Richard Straver, Founder of OPP, stated, “Payments should be a growth engine for software companies, not a technical obstacle. With this partnership, we remove the barriers that have traditionally made payments hard to monetise. SaaS platforms can launch faster, merchants can onboard easier, and platforms gain a new, predictable revenue stream, all from a single, integrated solution.”
Instead of requiring SaaS providers to manage separate acquirers, terminals, compliance, and reporting tools on a country-by-country basis, the joint offering provides access to one integrated platform. This platform covers the full payment stack with simple APIs, competitive commercial models, and built-in scalability, addressing much of the traditional complexity associated with launching and managing payments.
Vincent Fillaut, Head of Payment at SUNMI, commented, “At SUNMI, our vision is to build a BIOT platform that helps fintechs and solution providers deliver tangible value to merchants, at scale. Our partnership with OPP is a great example of that. Together, we make it easy for ISVs to combine SUNMI’s device portfolio with embedded payments, without added complexity. By bringing payments and business applications onto a shared hardware and software foundation, we’re enabling an ecosystem where innovation is practical, scalable, and ready to deploy.”
This collaboration extends OPP’s proposition into physical retail and hospitality environments, allowing SaaS platforms to integrate modern, device-based payment experiences directly into their core product. The solution combines software, payments, and hardware into a single commercial offering.
Joachim Goyvaerts, Head of SMB at Worldline, added, “This strategic partnership between SUNMI and OPP, part of Worldline, brings hardware and software together to make embedded payments more accessible for software platforms across Europe.”
The joint solution enables SaaS platforms to monetize payments without complex integrations, reduce implementation and deployment effort, lower total cost of ownership, deliver a complete end-to-end SaaS platform payment proposition, and support true omnichannel payment experiences across in-store, mobile, and digital environments.
