Moment, a provider of payment collection and revenue retention technology for corporate and enterprise merchants in Africa, announced on August 5, 2026, it has secured $22 million in a Series A funding round. The round was led by AlphaCode Venture Partners.

This financing brings Moment’s total capital raised to $55 million. Returning investors General Catalyst and MultiChoice, who were part of the company’s founding joint venture, participated in the Series A, which also saw new backing from French media company Canal+. This follows a Seed+ funding round in May 2024, which contributed $22 million and valued Moment at $82 million post-money.

Moment was established in 2023 as a joint venture between entertainment company MultiChoice Group, UK fintech Rapyd, and venture capital firm General Catalyst. Since its inception, the platform has developed into a pan-African payments network, offering solutions for online payments, abandoned cart collection, and debit order recovery to retailers and billers across the continent.

According to CEO Joel Yarbrough, Moment currently processes approximately 600,000 transactions daily, reaching 10 million people each month through partnerships with “some of Africa’s leading brands”. The company plans to deploy the Series A funds to deepen its network, enhance its platform capabilities, and accelerate its expansion initiatives throughout Africa. Additionally, Moment’s website indicates plans to integrate automated collections, customer insights, and dashboard data analytics into its product suite.
