mea Platform has launched mea Operations, a new suite of insurance-specific agentic AI products designed to address significant value opportunities within (re)insurance operating expense by automating core workflows.

Operating costs typically account for up to 14 points of a carrier’s combined ratio and nearly half of total broker expenses, representing an estimated $2 trillion annually. mea Operations aims to achieve up to a 50 percent reduction in these operating costs. The suite expands upon mea’s Intelligent Underwriting products, which have previously enabled underwriters to process over 40 percent more in-appetite business without additional effort.

mea Operations is designed to replace core (re)insurance and broker workflows, spanning from pre-bind underwriting and claims processing through post-bind activities, policy issuance, settlement, and finance services. The product modules include:

Underwriting Operations: Automates intake, clearance, triage, rating insights, and issuance, allowing underwriters to concentrate on risk assessment and growth initiatives.

Claims Operations: Automates every step from first notice of loss to settlement, reducing cycle times, minimizing leakage and friction, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Finance Operations: Automates premium booking, commission and reinsurance entries, and reconciliations for faster financial closes and greater control.

Broking Operations: Automates enquiry intake, exposure modeling, market submissions, and supports digital placement, facilitating targeted capacity matching and faster quote generation, which can lead to improved conversion ratios.

The mea Operations suite operates on the company’s Insurance Knowledge Graph, a modular platform that integrates with both mea’s proprietary AI and public large language models (LLMs). Clients can maintain their existing systems while incorporating a unified layer of insurance intelligence designed to deliver immediate operational results.

Martin Henley, CEO of mea Platform, stated, “mea Operations provides (re)insurance carriers and brokers with the capability to re-engineer their approach to operating costs and unlock an entirely new form of value creation. Our tools harness the specific language of insurance, allowing information to flow seamlessly from submission through finance. No other solution offers this level of insurance knowledge or the ability to automate so many manual processes.”

Leading carriers, including The Hartford, Markel, AXIS, CNA, and SCOR, are currently utilizing mea’s platform. Early adopters have reported faster decision cycles, reduced handling times, and improved financial ratios that contribute directly to the bottom line.

mea Platform offers rapid, non-invasive insurance AI deployment, aiming for immediate operational impact, significant cost reduction, and improved productivity.
