Liquidnet, a technology-driven agency execution specialist, has appointed Michael Fidance as Head of CEEMEA Equity Markets. Based in London, Fidance will report to James Whitehead, Head of Trade Coverage, EMEA, and will be responsible for accelerating the firm’s growth across Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Fidance’s mandate includes expanding market access and local liquidity, strengthening product offerings and distribution, and deepening engagement with both local and international asset managers. James Whitehead commented on the appointment, stating that Michael Fidance brings extensive regional insight and a proven track record in building client-focused businesses. Whitehead added that the appointment reflects Liquidnet’s ambitions to broaden its footprint in CEEMEA equity markets, where its Members are increasingly seeking trusted execution partners capable of delivering scale, liquidity, and local access.
Michael Fidance brings over 25 years of experience in global equity and fixed income markets. His career includes various senior roles in Sales and Trading across Emerging Market Equities at HSBC. Most recently, he served as Head of Sales for the newly established Execution Solutions business at State Street Global Markets, following its acquisition of CF Global Trading. Prior to that, Fidance was Head of Sales for CF Global Trading in Europe, where he played a key role in preparing the firm for acquisition. He also held senior positions at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Merrill Lynch, bringing expertise across emerging markets, execution strategy, and client advisory.
