Lemonade (NYSE: LMND), the digital insurance company, announced its 2025 Giveback, distributing $2,104,557 to 45 nonprofit organizations across the United States and European Union. This marks the ninth consecutive year the company has channeled a portion of its unclaimed premiums to support communities globally.

Unlike traditional insurance models where companies retain unclaimed premiums, Lemonade’s Giveback program allocates this money to causes selected by its customers when they purchase policies. With the 2025 donations, Lemonade has contributed over $12 million to more than 100 nonprofit organizations since its founding. A full impact report is available.

Shai Wininger, co-founder and President of Lemonade, stated, “When our customers choose Lemonade, they’re not just protecting their property and pets—they’re opening doors to clean water in dry African countries, rebuilding communities after disasters, and giving homeless youth the chance to dream bigger. That’s the heart of what we do. Every policy becomes a bridge between someone protecting the things they care about most, and someone else getting the help they desperately need. After nine years, I’m still moved by how our community transforms insurance from a transaction into an act of hope.”

The 2025 Giveback initiatives addressed a range of global challenges. In Uganda, donations provided clean drinking water to 4,000 people. In the United States, emergency medical aid and wildfire relief reached 4,000 individuals. Educational support was extended to over 294,000 students across 1,700 schools, with STEM education and college preparation specifically provided to more than 3,500 homeless youth in New York City. Additionally, affordable housing projects supported 30 families nationwide.

Lemonade offers renters, homeowners, car, pet, and life insurance. The company operates as a full-stack insurance carrier in the US and the EU, leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to streamline operations. Certified as a B-Corp, Lemonade distributes unused premiums to customer-selected nonprofits annually. Lemonade’s services are available in the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, France, and the UK.
