Klarna, a global digital bank and flexible payments provider, has announced the launch of its Agentic Product Protocol. This new open standard is designed to make every product available on the internet easily discoverable and understandable by AI agents. The initiative responds to the growing role of AI as an interface for commerce.

Klarna’s Agentic Product Protocol provides AI systems with access to a live, structured feed encompassing over 100 million products and 400 million prices. This data is standardized across 12 markets, establishing a foundation for agents to find, compare, and recommend real products with live prices and availability across various merchants, markets, and platforms.

David Sykes, Chief Commercial Officer at Klarna, stated, “Before agents can buy, they need to know what exists. Klarna’s Agentic Product Protocol defines a common language for how AI systems, merchants, and platforms exchange product data – a foundational layer for the next generation of agentic commerce.”

Through Klarna’s hosted Agentic Product Protocol API, merchants can connect once to make their products discoverable to any AI agent or platform supporting the protocol, eliminating the need for reformatting or new listings. The protocol API is compatible with various feed formats, including Google Merchant, Shopify, Amazon, Facebook Catalog, CSV, and JSON feeds. This allows merchants to have their products surfaced by AI assistants, enhancing discoverability and comparability in agent-driven conversations without requiring ads, paywalls, or intermediaries.

The Agentic Product Protocol specification and API access are now available for developers, AI platforms, and merchants.
