IVIX, an AI-powered platform designed to help governments combat financial crime and noncompliance, announced the appointment of former Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Commissioner Charles Rettig as Chairman of its Advisory Board. This strategic addition follows a recent $60 million Series B funding round and aims to support IVIX’s growth trajectory globally.

Mr. Rettig brings over four decades of compliance expertise and public sector leadership to IVIX, including his tenure as IRS Commissioner from 2018 to 2022. During his commissionership, he oversaw the nation’s tax system, managing an agency with over 83,000 employees and an annual budget exceeding $14.1 billion, which generated approximately $4.9 trillion in annual gross revenue. Under his leadership, the IRS navigated significant challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, implementing tax legislation changes, modernizing IRS systems, and initiating efforts to combat tax evasion and financial crimes. He was awarded the Alexander Hamilton Award by the Secretary of the U.

S. Treasury for his leadership at the IRS.

Matan Fattal, CEO of IVIX, stated, “We are honored to welcome Chuck to IVIX. His appointment as Chairman of the Advisory Board marks the next step in IVIX’s journey, supporting governments’ efforts to combat financial crimes. Chuck brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record that are fundamental as we continue to scale our technology and expand our capabilities.” Mr. Rettig commented, “IVIX represents the future of financial crime detection. For decades, I’ve seen the challenges that government agencies face in keeping pace with increasingly sophisticated financial crimes, and IVIX’s innovative AI-powered technology provides a significant government advantage in this fast-paced operating environment. I’m excited to bring my passion and experience to a company that gives authorities the advanced tools they require to identify hidden business activities and criminal networks.”

Don Fort, Chief Business Officer at IVIX and former IRS Criminal Investigations Chief, added, “Chuck’s extraordinary track record in leading large-scale government operations, directly interacting with government authorities throughout the world, and his deep understanding of financial crime and noncompliance make him an invaluable addition to IVIX’s Board of Advisors. I’ve known Chuck for perhaps 20 years. We worked closely together at the IRS and I’m confident his insights and passion will be instrumental as we help more government agencies strategically implement AI to protect public resources and address financial crime.”

Before becoming IRS Commissioner, Mr. Rettig served as an Advisory Board Member for the CA Franchise Tax Board and the CA State Board of Equalization. He is also a co-founder of the UCLA Extension VETS COUNT Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for active-duty and retired military personnel pursuing careers in tax, accounting, and wealth management. Currently, he serves as a Board Member/Senior Advisor for various next-generation technology organizations, as well as firms providing advanced blockchain investigation and recovery tools and insights for law enforcement agencies, financial institutions, and threat intelligence platforms.
