InterSystems has launched InterSystems Payer Connector, a new product designed to facilitate the rapid and reliable integration of Epic Payer Platform with health plans’ broader application ecosystems.
Epic Payer Platform establishes provider-workflow connections to health plans through information exchange. InterSystems Payer Connector aims to enhance this by providing a governed hub that transforms and routes data to and from core health plan systems. This approach seeks to accelerate high-value use cases, reduce the need for custom integration work, and ensure consistent data streaming into workflows.
Utilizing a set of prebuilt Epic-aware schemas and orchestrations, InterSystems Payer Connector connects the Epic Payer Platform to a health plan’s internal systems. This allows for the retrieval, processing, and transformation of data for downstream applications across care management, utilization management, claims processing, and quality programs. The bidirectional capability is intended to help health plans eliminate custom integration efforts, enhance returns on Epic Payer Platform investments, and improve clinical, operational, and business performance.
The InterSystems Payer Connector supports several key health plan workflows within the Epic Payer Platform. These include loading health plan member enrollment rosters to support the receipt of clinical data for active members, routing ADT notifications from the Epic Payer Platform to health plan systems for care and utilization management, retrieving CCDA and clinical and analytics summary documents for delivery to health plan systems, and pushing claims data and coding gaps into the Epic Health Plan Clinical Summary.
