Green Dot Partners with Stripe to Expand Cash Access for Stripe Treasury Users

Green Dot Corporation, a financial technology and bank holding company, has announced a new partnership with Stripe, enabling Stripe Treasury users to deposit cash into their accounts at over 90,000 Green Dot Network locations nationwide through Green Dot’s embedded finance platform, Arc. The collaboration integrates Green Dot’s Arc platform and extensive retail network with Stripe Treasury, offering businesses the ability to seamlessly add physical cash to their digital accounts. This initiative aims to provide enhanced flexibility and accessibility, with plans for additional features and capabilities in the future.

Renata Caine, general manager and senior vice president of embedded finance at Green Dot, stated, “We’re thrilled to partner with Stripe to embed more flexible, accessible financial services into its already expansive capabilities for today’s business owners. This collaboration reflects our shared vision of enabling seamless, inclusive financial experiences using modern infrastructure, and we look forward to helping Stripe deliver more value to its users for years to come.”The partnership addresses the persistent demand for cash services, particularly among low-to-moderate income (LMI) households and older adults. Data indicates that consumers aged 55 and above utilize cash for 22% of their payments, nearly double the rate of younger demographics. Similarly, households earning under $25,000 annually conduct 28% of their transactions with cash. Overall, 83% of U.

S. adults reported using cash at least once in the past 30 days, and over 90% intend to continue this payment method. By facilitating convenient and affordable cash deposits into digital accounts, this collaboration aims to bridge the digital divide for various consumer segments.
